The Selmer Mark VI is a model of horn needing no introduction. As the most desired saxophone in the instruments history its reputation preceeds itself, as does the long list of saxophone giants that have made music history with this instrument in their hands.
Having been made in 1964, this Mark VI arguably falls right at the end of the "golden era" of this instrument. With a production run spanning 20 years, the VI went through numerous changes under the same model number. This VI features a "long bow" design where the elbow of the saxophone is longer than other iterations, giving this VI a larger and fuller sound with a more pronounced low end. The low long design is a favourite of those seeking a powerful, deep timbre.
