Description

Holton trumpets, made out of the United States since the beginning of the 20th century, were the first american trumpets to be considered at a high enough standard for professional orchestral use. More than a century later, their instruments have found success and notoriety in the hands of trumpet giants like Don Ellis and Maynard Ferguson and are still beloved and sought after by trumpet players globally.

The ST307 was among the last of the models designed in conjuction with Fergusons series of trumpets made between 1972 and 2008. It features quite a large .468" bore with a reverse tuning slide construction and 5" yellow brass bell. This gives this trumpet a very open and free blowing feel, great for those looking for stratospheric playing like Maynard himself. This trumpet takes more air to fill up due to the large bore, leading to a full bodied sound with a deep core throughout the entire range of the instrument. The rounded tuning slide and specially tapered leadpipe further aid this horn in offering astonishing flexibility in the high registers while maintaning a full and balanced tone.

Finished in a clear lacquer with the signature Holton logo built into the tuning slide brace, this horn offers a classic experience for seeking an instrument with a great vintage-like sound with flexibility that competes with the leading edge of modern trumpets today.

***This instrument comes in its original Holton hard case with a mouthpiece included.
