Alex Moxon has been teaching music for nearly two decades. While focusing on jazz studies, he received a Bachelor of Music with highest honours in 2012 from Carleton University. Alex has experience performing and teaching in a wide variety of musical styles. He is happy to teach students of all ages and all experience levels while maintaining a flexible approach to teaching that addresses each students' individual needs. Chris teaches for Edmonton Public Schools as a substitute teacher, Edmonton Catholic Schools as a guitar clinician, and Parkland School Division as a Junior High classroom teacher and Musical Theatre assistant, he has post-secondary training in both Music (MacEwan University) and Education (University of Alberta B.A. English, B. Ed. Science). He has taught, performed, recorded , written, produced, and toured nationally and internationally as a professional guitar player for over 30 years, performing with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Junior Gone Wild, including multiple appearances at the Edmonton Folk Festival both as a singer/songwriter and as a sideman. Desirae started her musical journey like many children do around 6 years old in traditional private music lessons. Her first instrument of study was piano and soon doubled into voice. Beyond solo performances she moved into a leadership role running a youth choir where she first played music with other instrumentalists. Trained in classical piano and voice for 14 years, she was accepted to the Bachelor of Jazz and Contemporary Music program at MacEwan University and begun teaching privately in 2013. Her university adventures focused on Piano Composition and quickly inspired her to dive into other instruments. Today Desirae teaches Piano, Voice, Guitar, Ukulele, and Theory in a wide range of styles. She prefers to approach lessons with an environment of enjoyment while providing a healthy foundation to the student’s technical playing. Elizabeth Sihua was born into a musical family in Ukraine. She graduated from the College of Music, class violin and conducting chamber orchestra after she graduated with a bachelor degree at the Academy of Music in the city of Odessa. During this time she led an active concert performance. In 2016 she moved to Canada to the city of Regina, where she continued her concert and teaching activities, participating in various festivals and concerts, such as the Shostakovich Festival and others. Since 2019 she has been living in Edmonton. In 2021 she was a participant and member of the jury at the International String Connections Festival 2021 led by Guillaume Tardif and Svitlana Remniakova-Ostrovska. Lessons with Elizabeth can be instructed in English, Ukrainian or Russian.

Ian has been playing and making music for nearly his entire life. He received his bachelor's degree in music from MacEwan University in 2022 and is deeply interested in learning from and teaching all musical styles. He approaches teaching music from a student-first perspective, striking a balance between theoretical concepts and technical skills while allowing the student’s goals and interests to direct the trajectory of their learning. In other words, expect an instructor that adapts to you -- any style or genre, from video game soundtracks to crazy jazz chords.

Kayla is a freelance musician with over twenty years of experience performing, training and competing in piano and voice. Natalia Ungstad is currently taking her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at MacEwan University. Her musical background is diverse ranging from singing in choirs to performing solo alt-rock sets at Taste of Edmonton 2021 and 2022 along with other venues. She was appointed Student Representative of the Music Program for her high school and was the recipient of an achievement award for Choral music from the Music Parents Association of LaZerte and the Fine Arts Award from Edmonton Public Schools. She was also the first-place winner and audience award winner for the "17 - 18 Voice" category in the Royal Sound Competition, Winter 2022 in Montréal. Her musical interests range from metal and alternative rock all the way to classical and Broadway soundtracks. Nathan brings with him almost 20 years of varied piano experience and has been teaching piano professionally since 2018.

Nathan’s musical journey began with piano lessons as a youngster, where he developed a passion for classical music and theory. As he grew up, he took every opportunity to play piano live in various bands, both locally and in Asia. He loves improvising, playing by ear and composing his own music. He completed his Level 9 RCM in 2022 with first class honours, Advanced Theory with first class honours with distinction, and is working to complete Level 10 RCM this year.

As a teacher, Nathan has experience working with all ages and a variety of skill levels (from beginner to Grade 8 RCM), as well as with children with disabilities.

Nathan loves to connect with students and share his passion for music and strives to deliver lessons that are fun, in-depth and fast paced. He works hard to carefully plan each lesson and to tailor instruction to meet each student's goals and music preferences. Robyn Slack is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, performer, and music educator based out of Edmonton, Alberta. He is well-versed in many different genres and styles, having studied classical guitar from an early age before playing lead in a variety of hard rock and punk bands and ultimately studying jazz at Grant MacEwan College, graduating from their music program with a comprehensive major. Robyn has been awarded several EAC grants for his musical endeavours, and has written and released albums with a number of different projects, including pop punk quartet Colour In Conflict and alt-folk ensemble Payphones. He has performed in festivals across the country, as a musical guest on CBC’s The Irrelevant Show, and has composed music for film, theatre, and podcasts. Robyn has been teaching guitar and ukulele for over a decade, and believes in tailoring curriculum to each student’s individual musical goals in order to help them excel while making learning engaging, rewarding, and fun. My journey as a musician started in my basement as a young teenager; my love for music would eventually lead me to seek out knowledge wherever I could find it and any playing opportunities that were out there.
