Craig Doll - Drums music lessons in Grande Prairie

Craig Doll (Drums)

Craig is an experienced stage drummer and is currently playing in two well known local bands, TJ Ruckus and Violet Night. He is in his second year at GPRC for music and is enthusiastic to teach others the importance of ryhthym and technique on a drum kit.
Rate:$27 per half hour.

Darrell Scott - Guitar, Bass music lessons in Grande Prairie

Darrell Scott (Guitar, Bass)

Darrell has been playing guitar and bass in bands locally for many years. As well as being a well rounded musician he has been a woodwind and brass repair technician and operated a recording studio. He is currently playing guitar in the GPRC Jazz Band. Darrell stresses having a strong foundation in the basics of guitar theory and technique.
Rate: $29.00 per half hour

Kyle Doucette - Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Mandolin music lessons in Grande Prairie

Kyle Doucette (Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Mandolin)

Kyle has studied guitar and music theory since 2008 with Vic Mullen, who also taught him banjo for two years. Kyle has extensive experience as a touring bluegrass musician. In 2012 he was nominated for guitar and banjo player of the year at the Eastern Canada Bluegrass Music Awards.
Kyle taught for eight years with the Clare Bluegrass Association. He has been teaching at Long & McQuade since 2015.
Rate: $30 per half hour

Laysan Shakurova - Piano music lessons in Grande Prairie

Laysan Shakurova (Piano)

Laysan has been playing piano for over 30 years. She studied piano and theory at the Kazan Music College, and education in musicology at the Kazan State Conservatory in Russia. Laysan taught private piano lessons while studying at the Conservatory. Upon graduation, she taught there for one year, before teaching at a K-12 music school for 18 years. After moving to Canada Laysan taught piano privately in Dawson Creek for four years.
Laysan has been teaching at Long & McQuade since 2015.
Rate: $29 per half hour

Lorraine Cook - Piano, Voice music lessons in Grande Prairie

Lorraine Cook (Piano, Voice)

Lorraine has been playing piano for over 40 years. She has her grade 8 Royal conservatory in Piano and grade 4 theory. She has her Bachelor of Education and Arts from the University of Edmonton. She has been a substitute teacher in Grande Prairie for the past 13 years. She has taught classroom music, as well as elementary/junior high band, orchestra, and choir. As a drama major Lorraine is an experienced vocal performer. She has been involved as an actor/singer in a wide range of musical theatre productions locally and provincially. She has also directed a number of shows for Grande Prairie Live Theatre (GPLT). Lorraine has sung with the University of Alberta Mixed Chorus, and the GPRC Choir.

Malika Frost - Violin, Viola, Cello, Strings music lessons in Grande Prairie

Malika Frost (Violin, Viola, Cello, Strings)

Malika graduated Mount Allison University with a Major in classical studies and a minor in music in 2006, and graduated St. Thomas University with a Bachelor of Education in 2012. She has a passion for music and teaching it to others. Trained in both Suzuki and traditional RCM methods she offers great versatility for her students. Malika has been teaching since 2005.

Tara Gibson - Voice, Piano music lessons in Grande Prairie

Tara graduated with her Bachelor of Music Degree from Western University in Ontario in 2009. During and after her degree she actively performed in the London Ont. in group performances in operas as well as performing as a soloist. She has previously taught since 2010, with experience teaching at the Royal Conservatory in Victoria B.C. Tara is enthusiastic, positive and bubbling with energy and excitement over sharing her love of music and singing with students. Tara has been teaching since 2010
