Al studied at the University of Miami along side world famous Joe Morello and the Paul Robson Toronto Percussion Program. He has played with or toured with legends Dutchy Mason, John Allan, Sam Moon, Mat Minglewood, Bucky Adams, The Werzels, Ice Capades, BB King Band, Eddie Richards Big Band, Johnny Manders Dixie Band, Canada Brass, and John Stockfish with Gordon Lightfoot. He is endorsed by Zildjian Cymbals and a member of the Vic Firth PTA Educational Team. Al founded the NS School Drumline Project and is the host of the NS Student Drum Festival, and is the Director of the semi annual Drum Camps held at Long&McQuade Halifax. He is currently the drummer for Terry Edmunds and travels to schools in Nova Scotia. He teaches private lessons at L&M Halifax branch in all styles electric or acoustic, as well as hand drums. Cuban-Canadian Ali Enriquez is a multi-talented instrumentalist, singer, composer, and educator. Originating from Havana, she began her musical journey at the early age of five. Relocating to Halifax with the backing of the Los Primos Project, she focused on a music education in classical and jazz. She’s graced venues worldwide, from the Halifax Jazz Festival to the Ravello Music Festival in Italy. Working with various ensembles including orchestras, big bands and small format groups, Ali’s genre-spanning performances captivate diverse audiences. She attended Dalhousie University for two years, later transitioning to NSCC’s Music program. Recently she has embarked on a solo career, releasing her debut single, “Se Vale Llorar,” in March 2023.
She has found a love for teaching violin, piano, theory, ear training, composing and songwriting, in various styles such as classical, jazz, pop, R&B, latin and fiddle music, and her rate for a 30 minute private is $26.00.

Avery Dakin is a ECMA nominated composer, singer-songwriter, band leader, and multi-instrumentalist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Acadia University, and has been teaching since graduating in 2018. Her passions lie in finding the elements of music-making that interest each individual student across genres and styles, and supporting young musicians in their musical journeys with fun and exploration at the forefront. In 2021 Avery won bronze in The Coast’s Best-Of Halifax Awards for Best New Artist, and this year has been nominated for Best Songwriter and Best R&B Artist after releasing her debut album, "Bloom". Avery also works as a supporting keyboard player and vocalist for other local artists and bands. Her lesson rate is $26/30 minutes.

A Halifax native, Karlene began teaching privately not long after graduating from Western University with a BA Music degree. Alongside her private teaching studio, she was a Music Itinerant Specialist with the Toronto District School Board for three years, where she taught classroom music to children using Orff pedagogy methods. She is also a certified music therapist which informs her teaching approach for individuals of all abiilities. Karlene also performs in the local scene as a solo vocalist and a cover artist on vocals and keyboards. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Shanti Sivarulrasa is a composer and violinist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is in her fourth year of the Bachelor of Music program at Dalhousie University on a four-year Fountain Performing Arts Scholarship. Shanti is pursuing a concentration in composition, studying composition with Amy Brandon and violin with Dr. Leonardo Perez. She served as the Concertmaster of the Dalhousie Symphony Orchestra from 2022 to 2024. Shanti is a three-time winner of the Dalhousie Concerto Night Competition and is the recipient of more than a dozen academic and artistic scholarships. Most recently, Shanti was awarded the Music’s Future Scholarship by the New York-based Music Performance Trust Fund, recognizing her as one of thirty current and future leaders in the music industry across North America. Shanti has completed several composition workshops with institutions such as the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance (Lunenburg, NS) and Arraymusic (Toronto, ON). She has also completed composition intensives, notably with composer Dr. Alyssa Weinberg and cellist Gabriel Cabezas (Brooklyn, NY). Shanti is the co-founder and co-creative director of the Nuovo Contemporary Concert Series, a series dedicated to showcasing new works by Halifax-based composers. She is also the first violinist and a founding member of the Rostova String Quartet, a group performing classical and contemporary music in Halifax.
