Born in Poland, Alina Kazmierczak showed early musical talent and was chosen to study to become a professional classical musician. She started playing classical (Spanish) guitar at the age of 7 and piano at the age of 10. After 12 years of musical education, she obtained a Professional Musician Diploma in Classical Guitar and Piano with high honours. She continued her higher musical education at St. Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk where she received a Masters of Arts Degree with specialization in Classical Guitar Performance as well as a Teacher Diploma. Since moving to Canada, she has continued to perform and to teach classical guitar and piano for almost 30 years. Her students get high grades in the Royal Conservatory of Music Exams as well as in RCM Music Rudiments Exams. In 2019, she received the Teacher of the Year Award from Kollari Institute of Music.

Alina is an ORMTA member and an RCM Certified Piano teacher. Besides playing and teaching piano and classical guitar, she spent nine years conducting, directing, and accompanying the Ignacy Paderewski Choir in the National Capital as well as on tours. In 1997, the Canadian Senate recognized her work with the Ignacy Paderewski Choir as promoting and preserving Polish culture in the Canadian spirit of multiculturalism.

Christian is a musician, educator and producer originally from Mexico City. He emigrated to Canada and has been living in Ottawa since 2012 where he works as an instructor for guitar, bass, ukulele, harmonica, band ensembles, the basics of audio and recording, and electronic music production. He has performed on stages and festivals around Mexico, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. Most recently, Christian was an instructor for the Computer Music program at Carleton University, where he is also continuing studies in music composition. He also leads band ensembles for kids and adults, specializing in Blues, Rock, Funk, Pop, improvisation and performance. He believes strongly that music is a lifelong pursuit of self-discovery and collaboration in which there is always something new to learn and share with his students and the community.

Cliff Chamberlain is a well-rounded guitarist and musician with over 25 years of playing, performing and touring experience. He is well versed in numerous styles: rock, blues, classical, jazz, country and many more. Cliff has taught at various schools in the Ottawa area for over 14 years. His teaching approach works for the student by teaching them their favourite songs and styles, while giving them the essential fundamentals to progress in any style they choose.

Eric Ross is a professional bassist and guitarist who has 20 years of performing and teaching experience. He has taught individual guitar lessons and group classes through the Austin Live Music Academy at the University of Texas, and group guitar classes at MSCR in Madison, Wisconsin. He holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.
Eric gives his students the tools they need to achieve their goals and to develop their own voice on the instrument. In addition to learning the fundamentals, he believes that it is important for his students to work on music that inspires them.

Ethan Ryan is a musician, teacher, and composer who has a deep passion for all things music related. Ethan is in his third year at Carleton University, where he is working towards a Bachelor of Music, and primarily focuses on Guitar Performance, Music Theory, and Composition. He studies multiple genres and styles in his guitar playing, ranging from, Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Latin Jazz, Metal, Rock, Funk, Avant Garde/Experimental, and covers an equally broad amount of theoretical concepts and approaches to music, including Eighteenth Century Common Practice Theory, Modern Jazz and Pop Theory, Tonal Counterpoint, Post-Tonal Theory, and 12 Tone Serialism. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics, an experienced player looking to prep for university, or someone who just wants to explore music deeper for fun, Ethan is excited and eager to help anyone reach their musical goals.

Norm has been playing guitar for 40+ years and teaching/performing for over 20 years. He co-developed the guitar teaching program at Simply Guitars in Ottawa in 2006 where he taught for almost ten years.
Utilizing the 12 bar blues styles and CAGED system have been very effective in helping students establish a technical foundation from which they can branch off into rock, pop, metal, country and jazz etc. He believes in a relaxed but structured learning environment, utilizing both theoretical and hands-on approaches, and enjoys teaching anyone from the complete novice to the seasoned player looking to expand their horizons. His personal philosophy also includes talking about the history and origins of songs, styles, performers, instruments etc.
Norm is interested in playing in many idioms; favourites include blues, slide guitar, jazz, folk, rock, world, classical--these influences can be heard in his Ottawa-based instrumental trio "Butterflies and Zebras".
