Dylan Dumitru
Born and raised in the United States, Dylan began playing clarinet in 2003. Throughout high school, she performed in the community youth orchestra and All-District band.
In 2012, she left the States to pursue an undergraduate Music Degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, studying under Dr. Paul Bendzsa and Dr. Christine Carter.
While in school, she performed in the MUN Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Jason Caslor, and the MUN Chamber Orchestra under Dr. Vernon Regher. She also performed with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra on the bass clarinet during their performance of Aaron Copland’s Rodeo.
Dylan hopes to bring an exciting and encouraging energy to the lesson centre!

Originally from Ottawa, Sam Cousineau first started playing the saxophone at the age of eight and fell in love with music and the saxophone immediately. Sam holds a Bachelor of Music in jazz performance from McGill University and a Master’s in jazz performance from the University of North Texas. While at the University of North Texas, Sam was part of the seven-time Grammy nominated One O’Clock Lab Band. Sam can be heard on the One O’Clock Lab Band’s recording “Lab 2018.” Sam has had the opportunity to study with some of the top artists in the world including Eric Alexander, Dave Liebman, Jerry Bergonzi, Donny McCaslin, Remi Bolduc, Andre White, Donny Kennedy and many more. On top of performing, touring and recording, Sam is an active teacher and educator. He teaches saxophone and woodwind techniques, theory, composition, ear training, and improvisation. He is currently completing a DMA in jazz performance at the University of Toronto. Sam aims to be an active performer, touring artist, as well as a music educator.
Sam’s rate per half hour private lesson at Long & McQuade Orleans is $26. (English)
