Lessons Coordinator

Gabriel Brun - coordinator of the music lessons in Laval

Gabriel Brun

Gabriel began his musical journey in the Sea Cadets at the age of 13 with the snare drum. A few years later, he switched to the flute when he joined his high school's music program and joined the extracurricular band, which allowed him to participate in a music competition in Florida. Gabriel then studied at Lionel-Groulx College for 2 years in the classical music program with Josée Poirier as flute teacher. Later, in September 2018, Gabriel joined the ranks of the Orchestre à Vents de Musiques de Films, in Montreal, where he performs the most memorable themes from the video game universe, including "The Legend of Zelda", "Super Mario", "Mega Man", etc. This allows him to perform in some of Quebec's popular culture events such as the Montreal Comic Con.

Teaching Day(s): Tuesday

Marc began his musical journey in his elementary school choir. He was given a few solos. In high school, he studied both clarinet and saxophone, getting involved in several musical projects. His passion for music led him to perform with several small and large ensembles. He is interested in writing and arranging music, as well as chamber music and symphony orchestra repertoires. As an adult, Marc studied ensemble conducting with trumpeter and conductor André Gauthier. As part of his bachelor's degree in music education, he studied classical clarinet at UQAM with Martin Carpentier, clarinetist with the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal. Marc has long been interested in all wind instruments, and is not afraid of musical challenges. His professional experiences have led him to conduct young people in school settings as well as adults in musical theatre settings. He has been teaching clarinet, saxophone, flute and trumpet privately for over 15 years, and continues to hone his teaching skills at university.
