5-String Banjo for the Guitar Player
With Patrick Gushue
Are you a guitar player who's always been interested in learning the banjo, but don't understand the tunings and different techniques? In this seminar, Patrick will walk through the basic chord shapes and right-hand techniques used on the 5-string banjo.
Patrick Gushue is a local musician (Montgomery Street Band), and a music teacher who specializes in a variety of stringed instruments. He is a big fan of bluegrass and old-time music, and loves to teach beginners! Patrick has been teaching music lessons at Long & McQuade Fredericton since 2019.

With Liam Keith-Jacques
Have you ever wanted to get more out of your strumming hand? In this seminar, Liam will focus on rhythm and strumming techniques, but will also touch on the strumming styles in various genres of music, including Rock, Metal, Folk, Country, Jazz, and Bluegrass.
Liam Keith-Jacques has been teaching guitar for 15 years and is also a performer in a varied range of musical styles. He performs regularly with Montgomery Street Band, Alex Bailey Swing Band, and Iguanodon. Liam has been teaching music lessons at Long & McQuade Fredericton since 2019.

Have you ever wondered what is involved in owning an electric guitar? Have you been curious about getting more hands-on with your instrument's care? In this seminar, Chris will cover restringing, setting string height, basic repairs to electronic components, and more.
Chris Mercer has decades of teaching experience in many musical styles, and with all age groups. He's an entertainer at heart, and has performed and toured with several artists. Chris has been teaching music lessons at Long & McQuade since 2011.
