In this workshop, Reay will discuss:

  • Roots/blues music

The harmonica playing of “Shakey Reay” Suter has enhanced the airwaves, stereos, and stages of Canada and the United States for over twenty years.

He spent most of the ‘80s on the road out of Winnipeg in Blues, Country, Country Rock, and Folk acts, playing in clubs and festivals across Canada. His bands there included the popular Country Rock band Steelwater and the Bourbon Street Blues BandHe has been a mainstay of the Vancouver live music & studio scene, recording with Will Millar (Irish Rovers), Colin James, Jack Lavin (Powder Blues), Billy Cowsill, and the Last Wild Sons. His bands have toured extensively in U.S. and Canada.

With Jamie Wollam of Tears for Fears

Drumming techniques for the beginner to advanced player!

Jamie Wollam grew up in Southern California. With a penchant for sports and a natural knack for music, he eventually decided to focus his energy on his love for drums.

Jamie graduated with honors from Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) in Hollywood, CA in 1989. Soon after, he landed his first pro-level touring gig as the drummer for Michael Sweet (of Stryper fame). This began a litany of high-profile work for artists such as Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Tommy Shaw, Fee Waybill, and Tom Morello's solo project, The Nightwatchman.

In 2010, Jamie joined the legendary band Tears for Fears and has been with them ever since.

Join Doug as he discusses live sound aimed at soloists, duos and guitar players in general.

Doug Towle is one of Canada’s premier guitarists. He has performed across North America in such prestigious events as Guitar Player Live in San Francisco, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, The Zihuatenejo Guitar Festival in Mexico, several appearances at the Juan De Fuca Festival and the Harmony Arts Festival, among countless other festival and club stages.

In 2009 Guitar Player Magazine selected Doug from among thousands of hopefuls as a top ten finalist in their Guitar Superstar Competition, solidifying his reputation as one of the top players not only in Canada but globally.
