Elixir® Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings with NANOWEB® Coating deliver a rich, rounded tone with greater clarity. The NANOWEB Coating is more durable• even during hard hitting attacks and provides a smooth natural feel with reduced finger squeak. Like all Elixir Strings, these coated bass strings offer extended tone life.
*compared to original NANOWEB Coating

Elixir Strings is the only brand to coat the entire string, protecting not only the outer string surface, but also the gaps between the windings. Elixir Strings with NANOWEB Coating retain their tone longer than any other bass string, uncoated or coated.**

Since no one else has commented on these excellent strings, I'll throw my hat in the ring... What can I say, they live up to their promise. They last a long time (longer than x5 if you're cheap like me) and keep their bright tone. I bought a set, put it on a bass that I eventually sold, took them off first and put them on my trusty Yamaha TRB-5P, put it in the closet for a year (or was it two?), brought it out and started banging away and to my great surprise, these strings STILL sound bright as new! All this to say, these strings cost a lot (I hope the price comes down as the technology gets older), but they really do last a LONG time, keep their bright tone, and are VERY SMOOTH, when new at least. I'm going to buy another set, but I'm still waiting for these to die!
