But at TC Electronic, were more about moving things forward and listening to the feedback from the guitar community. This delay is a great pedal with 3 different delay switches so you can figure out and/or use the toneprint app for different custom sounds. the looper is great if you want to play something with two guitars it is absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this delay.

I was looking to add delay to my pedalboard, but wanted more than just one pedal at my feet. This unit provides you three delay pedals in one, with tap tempo for all three, and that's before you have to bend down to get all the other goodies this has to offer. You have many choice delay presets to choose from, including the TonePrints, and yes the software. I'm not a looper guy, but the short looper on this is also great for practicing parts or just jamming to. The looper has an independent volume knob which is great. Also, it's made of metal, so it's as tough as boot leather. Looking at what you get for the price, this pedal is an outstanding value and I would highly recommend you check it out. If you need further convincing, price out three separate delay pedals, a basic looper pedal, and factor in all the features, then compare that to the price of the X3.

This is a great pedal and for the money it is second to none. For me, what puts this pedal in a class by itself is not only the toneprint feature for the download of celebrity guitarist favourite delays, but, also the new sophisticated edit software that allows the user to create sounds essentially from scratch with a myriad of edit controls to not only download to one of the the pedal's toneprint slots but, as well,the capability of storing other original creations in your computer building a library of original delay sounds for use later as you need them.

Great pedal. Keep in mind that if you have a Voodoo Labs power source, you'll need to get a Voodoo Lab Current Doubler Adapter. The one with the green end.

Until a year ago, I was not that familiar with the T.C Electronic name. Within the last year the X4 is the THIRD T. C. Electronic peddle I have purchased. It is outstanding with a superior selection of delays, excellent value and of course, the very innovative and unique toneprint feature that, in my opinion, puts a pedal like this in a class by itself. It is quite large(bigger than most of this type) and I would submit, very solidly built.
One of the game changers for me was the pure stereo path connections(in & out) which very few other manufacturers provide for this type of stompbox pedal.

Great features include, toneprints (if you are not familiar with toneprints, look it up), 3 programmable presets, tap tempo, looper and MIDI Sync. Straight out of the box, the delays on this pedal are superb and fun to play. Configuring great-sounding presets is simple and quick. The looper is fantastic and easy to jump-in and play with. Buffered or passive audio, stereo routing, buffered delay - TC has thought of everything and packed it into this pedal.
Sonic quality is excellent. No ugly artifacts in the audio at all. Build quality (specifically, footswitches) is a little suspect, however, I've been gigging this pedal for almost a year now and have had no issues.
For the money, the Flashback x4 is a great value, not only because of the flexibility offered by the sounds and features, but also because the TC Electronic Support portal is excellent and easy to navigate.
Overall, this pedal rocks and if you're looking to get the most out of your Delay-dollars, I would recommend this pedal.
