I like my analog mixer enough but wanted to bypass the generic motherboard sound device. This unit just does the conversions, no gain or mix balancing. Plug it in and forget it's there. I installed the Behringer driver but next time would try using the ASIO4ALL to avoid driver proliferation. My L&R mixer outputs are patched to the UCA202 inputs. The UCA202 outputs are patched to my amplified desktop speakers. My headphone is plugged into the 1/8" jack on the UCA202. The unit's Monitor slide switch will let the headphone either hear 1) what's coming from your computer, or 2) computer and the feed from the mixer. That gives me all normal computer listening functions (movies, YouTube, random music) and then monitoring my DAW work. I've used it with Goldwave, Audacity and Cubase. I have a 2 mic $150 USB interface with gain and I like this better for simplicity as the mixer gives plenty of signal already. If I get a USB mixer, I might try using this to direct an AUX send to the computer on a second USB line, giving me 4 tracks on my DAW.
