Fender unveiled its Tweed series amps to great success and acclaim in 1993. The concept: What if a great old, collectable, 1950's Deluxe or Bassman was customized with channel switching and reverb?

Behold the Reissue Blues Deluxe, a vintage-style tube amp with boutique tone at a great price that many a pro rock, country and blues player has used to superb effect.

While its newer cousin, the Hot Rod Deluxe, has many modern refinements, more and more enthusiasts continue to request the warm tone, unique circuitry, classic features and sharp look of the original version.

Accordingly, the Reissue Blues Deluxe sends 40 watts of juice into a single, 12", Special Design Eminence speaker, fueled by two 6L6 output tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes.

Its two channels - normal (with bright switch) and drive - are voiced for classic blues, country and rock. Other features include Fender spring reverb, an effects loop and two-button channel footswitch. The great look includes tweed covering, chicken head pointer knobs and a chrome control panel.

I bought this amp for its power and its fidelity. This is a way above the blue jr. I tested them side by side. It is only 10lbs heaver than the jr, and $300 more. It will play any venue, from festival gigs to small gigs. If you order a "Lion Lamer", you can play this at apartment volume. Reverb is only acceptable for 2-3, treble is best at 3.

Been playing for over 30 years. Have had many different amps, boutique several Mesas, Fenders, Vox, boutique amps, etc. Currently own a few. Play many different styles (except for metal). Have had the Blues Deluxe for 3 years now. I play in 2 different cover bands. This amp will never disappoint you. A great upgrade is replacing the stock speaker with a Eminence Cannabis Rex. Great platform for pedals. Beautiful clean sound and a warm driven sound. Warmer than the Hot Rod Deluxe. Powerful and also does a great job at lower volumes. It's become my go to amp for live gigs. Every day I love it more. It's a workhorse that sounds amazing!

This has been my only amplifier for 13 years and I regularly play for several hours every day; I’ve never had a problem with it working perfectly even after thousands of hours of playing at low/med volumes and transporting it often. Some will say this amp sounds like trash, but they’ve never plugged into Channel 2, scooped the treble and bass with the mids at 8 and turned the BRIGHT button off — try this combo and enjoy a whole new amp. It’s naturally very harsh and bright, but just try to think outside the box and don’t be afraid to use a guitar volume/tone knob with this amp. The gain channel is extremely useful and can get nice light “Julian Lage” overdrive, to heavy crunch tones with a clean boost pedal. The spring reverb is pretty good (better with a clean boost pedal) but I do like the Deluxe Reverb tank better. I play Strats and Teles, usually R&B, country, pop, some jazz, indie, and blues (although rarely) and this amp takes all of it well — it always inspires emotion. I’m often tempted to try something new, but honestly I've figured this amp out, so I will never need a “nicer” 40W amp. But, yes — being 40W it wants to be really REALLY loud, so this would complement a 5W or 15W nicely.

I bought it new from the shop. With in weeks it was crackeling and popping terribly. New tubes didn't fit it. Sent to the only licensed fender repair in the lower mainland. 5 weeks later I received it back sounding different then before. Large laundry list of re-soldered and replaced items internally. Amp had a really bright sound afterwards. Online, I found this was very common with this and some other newer Fender amps. Sold the amp at a low ball price to pass along the grief.

This amp is what it is. A amp with great clean sound. With as Strat that chime is there. When you plug in a Les Paul and select the overdrive ( keep overdrive at 4) and crank the volume, this little box has some kool mojo..I run this with two other amps for a variety of sounds.

I bought the amp for the clean channel and look. After some use I realized the overdrive channel required some work and some of the controls required fine tuning. Changed v1 with an 12at7, replied speaker with celestion 30 and added a frommel mod kit. Worth the investment since the amp is much more usable.

Beauty of an amp. Great volume potential with a wide array of tones. Light as a feather and built like a tank. Can't say enough good about it. Great tool for the working musician that wants compact power. Has an out for an extension cab as well that I use frequently for larger rooms. A+

I bought this amp about 20 years ago when it was still being made in the US. It have been discontinued and re-issued several times since then. Overall a great warm sounding amp. Mine had a few issues when I bought it (it would switch into the overdrive channel on its own but this was fixed under warranty). Over the years I had some mods done to it including a more tapered volume and bass pot as well as a more dynamic bright switch (the original really doesn't do much). I have used the amp steadily at rehearsals and gigs. Always sounds great for the kind of music I play - mostly standards and old school rock. I am not sure it is the best amp for the heavy metal crowd but it works just great for me.

I have owned this amp for a around 4 years now. The amp is just about everything you could expect in a Fender. The tone this amp gives is amazing, good for any style of music. My only issue with this amp is that it goes from zero volume to absolutely deafening with the slightest turn of the knob, and I mean slightest, I have never played it past volume three and I feel that I am missing out on the full potential of the amp. So if you like to bleed from the ears, this one may be for you.

This is the amp I've been looking for, for years. Had a Hot Rod III and this beats it in every way. Nice tone, loud (if you want) lots of overdrive for rock. Perfect fit with my American Standard Strat.

This amp is a bit of a one trick pony. It does clean very well with lots of bottom end and plenty of headroom. Loud enough to play gigs with a drummer. It has a fuller sound than my Blues Jr, but does not break up like the jr. The overdrive channel is weak and you loose some bottom end when switching channels, as it changes tone pushing the mids. It also has the control panel reversed so you can read the controls from behind the amp. Something that they changed for the Hot Rod series. If you're looking for lots of gain, get a pedal or a different amp.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
