I was in need of a pop filter but was put off by some of the negative reviews of cheaper models. Based on the product description, I decided to give this filter a try despite the much higher price. I’m glad I did.
This thing is SOLID. The moment you grab the gooseneck you know its going to stay where you position it. The clip, which is made of metal, clamps on with authority. I like the fact that its lined with ridged rubber pads, which assists with the grip and keeps the mic stand from getting scratched.
The filter is a perforated piece of stainless steel, not a metal mesh. Despite its relative transparency, it works extremely well. I like to take advantage of my mic’s “proximity effect” so I get in pretty close. As you would expect, the filter does exactly what its suppose to.
This filter is a great example of “you get what you pay for”. If ever I need another filter for a second mic, I’m not even going to pretend to shop around. I’m getting another one of these.
