I bought these hoping that the coating would reduce 'squeak' when sliding up and down the G string. Nope. BUT they have _rejuvenated_ the sound of my '68 FG75. Bright, crisp, and they feel good. My wife says this is the best the old guitar ever sounded. High E string is bright, as are the D and A strings. B string is okay, but not as bright as the E. G string is, as usual, the troublemaker; deader than the others. But it is still brighter than my old strings. The low E string is a bit _too_ bright for my tastes. I'm tempted to use this G string with some regular strings to balance out the brightness. Maybe in a month or so... Bottom line, These are pricey, but sound great.
