The Ltd. Edition Casino in Sunrise Orange brings a fresh look to the Epiphone classic that has been a favourite of the world's top artists for over 50 years including The Beatles, Paul Weller, Keith Richards, Radiohead, Gary Clark Jr., and The Kinks. Featuring new Epiphone Dogear P-90 Classic™ single coil pickups and Epiphone "Deluxe" Vintage 14:1 tuners. Available for a limited time only.

Legendary Thin-line Hollowbody Masterpiece
Today, Epiphone Casinos are made the same as they were when they were first released in 1961. The new Ltd. Ed. Casino in Sunrise Orange is an all-hollowbody thin-line archtop with a 5-ply Maple top, back, and sides and with Basswood bracing.

Both the body and fingerboard have Ivory binding. The Mahogany neck has a SlimTaper™ D profile and is glued to the body at the 16th fret just like vintage models from the 60s.

The Pau Ferro fingerboard has parallelogram inlays, a 24.75" scale, a 12" radius, and a 1.68" nut while the small-sloped dovewing headstock has beveled sides and a 14 degree angle for better string tension and intonation.

Epiphone Dogear P-90 Classic
The Ltd. Ed. Casino in Sunrise Orange is powered by new Epiphone Dogear P-90 Classic™ single coil pickups inspired by the first generation of P-90 pickups that gave the Casino its unique tone. Epiphone Dogear P-90 Classics are made with 18% Nickel Silver covers and designed and tooled from the ground up with new bobbins manufactured to historic dimensions, Elektrisola magnet wire, sand cast Alnico V magnets, and pole shoes manufactured using correct alloys made to Gibson's original dimensions.

Each pickup has its own Volume and Tone control with Gold "Top Hat" knobs with metal inserts and pointers and an Epiphone all-metal three-way selector switch.

Epiphone Hardware
The Ltd. Ed. Casino in Sunrise Orange has a Tune-o-matic bridge and traditional chrome trapeze tailpiece along with Epiphone "Deluxe" Vintage machine heads with small metal buttons and a 14:1 tuning ratio for fast and accurate tuning.

First, be prepared for people to say "nice red guitar" if you do get the so called orange LE version lol. It pretty much is red. Redder than in the photo. Other than that I love this guitar so much. It plays like a dream. The neck pickup sounds so stellar on a good amp. Luckily i didn't have the setup issues the other review mentions. It is a Chinese factory, but it's a very good Chinese factory as far as I could tell. My nut was fine, tailpiece centered. I will say the input jack nut was a bit cheap and had it replaced. You don't want it to fall through as its a real pain to fish out. I like the pau ferro fretboard personally. It's really just an aesthetic preference, but yeah Rosewood is endangered so better get used to pau ferro either way haha. Guitar has excellent sustain and resonance. Very loud when not plugged in, and very light. It's a very comfortable play. I had my frets polished but only after a year of use. I didn't feel it needed one from day one, but perhaps I got lucky. Stays in tune nicely and the neck is just very playable. The low end tones are just brimming with power, and warm, milky high end. Maybe some perceive it as a bit muddy, but to me it's warm and vibrant.. Quality I knocked off a point for the cheap jack nut and the floating tailpiece makes changing strings slightly more of an inconvenience. Not sure why floating tailpieces are even a thing to be honest, no perceivable benefit. I suppose they relieve pressure of the fretboard for longevity. The neck isn't bolted on which is nice for tone. The finish is a thick glossy lacquer and feels really nice. I've hit it on a few things before and it seems really resistant to chipping/dents. The tone and playability are the two main selling points to me. It's an excellent guitar, especially for the price. The tone is much more lively and warm than the Gretsch which I found to be a bit thin sounding. Personally I took the pick guard off, and i think it looks better. I highly recommend this guitar. Feedback is something that is a double edged sword, p90 hollowbody is gonna have lots of feedback, but if you can tame it it's very fun to utilize in your sound. If you have a modelling amp or play direct in feedback isn't anything to consider. I love the p90s over humbuckers any day, but that's me.

I own this guitar and I would recommend it if you find one that is flawless. I have owned and sold a few of these import Casinos and I've seen repeated spots where there are problems. First, make sure the trapeze tailpiece is centered. If not, there is no cheap, practical way to fix it and you will see it every time you pick up the guitar. Sometimes the pickguards are not cut and/or mounted straight and do not lie flat over the pickups. The nuts are made of very cheap plastic and may not be cut properly. One actually broke on me and the one on this model had slots that were not cut nearly deep enough but it was fixable. The frets usually can benefit from a buff and polish. Sometimes it has been a struggle to get these guitars to intonate properly. The strings should be replaced with a quality brand and sometimes a saddle may have to be turned around to get enough movement to intonate the string accurately. And again, if the nut slots are not cut deep enough the guitar will not play in tune in the open position. Other than that I haven't really found other problems. The poly finishes look great but it is a shame that they are now using pao ferro for the fretboards instead of rosewood. It just doesn't look right to me. I guess it will take years of pao ferro until it appears as the 'new normal'. Some people have said the pickups are too hot compared to pickups in true vintage Casinos but I wouldn't know. In conclusion in my opinion you will be happy with this guitar if you get a well made one and it is set up properly with good strings.

Clean with some reverb, that sound you've heard for years comes pouring out of the amp. Kick the mule and it's loud warm and beautiful. The orange matches my amp.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
