Wanted a fully hollow electric guitar. Tried the Casino but really didn’t like it. Can’t access high up the neck and it had some quality issues. Returned it and got a Casino Coupe. What a difference! Love this guitar. Quality and finish are great. Light weight and easy to play. The P90 pickups have a great sound. I also have an Epiphone 335, Gretsch G5220, Yamaha Pacifica, 612, all great guitars but the Casino Coupe is my favourite. Extremely versatile and fun to play….and it is the cheapest of all my guitars. Wow! I want to give a shout out to John Ellis at L&M Peterborough for his knowledge and advice provided as I continue to grow my guitar collection. Thank you John.

bought it today from the longueul store. had a real rough time choosing between thos and a 339 pro. the p90 and real hollow (not semi) made the differnece. my main guitar is a gibson tribute les paul and i wanted sometjing different. i love it. so light and sounds awesome in my traynor ygl-1. awesome service as usual.

I have had this guitar for a year. The size and the weight is perfect for me. Very comfortable to play. The neck I find has little more too it than the 1960s slim taper it is supposed to have - more a soft D profile and I like it. It has it's own sound that filled a space between a strat and an ES339 with humbuckers. Nice chimey cleans and blues-rock grit when you add some dirt. Needed a setup and had fret buzz, but that was taken care of by the tech at the store. It's a keeper.

I bought the Epiphone Casino Coupe because I wanted a very lightweight guitar easier on the back while carrying it during rather longish walks to lessons. I also wanted a guitar that is a pleasure to play and would sound good with clean sound for jazz. It meets these criteria. It had a bit of buzzing, high action and tuning instability from the start. Heavier gauge strings and a proper set up including nut adjustment cured all those ills. The high E string machine tuner had a cracking sound and seemed mechanically defective. The Kanata L&M store replaced that right away. Works fine now. Excellent service. One reads a lot of reviews which indicate people immediately replace the pickups, bridge, nut, tuners -- I guess assuming they are low quality. I did not do any of that. The stock hardware is actually pretty good. My advice: take the time get to know the guitar and fine tune its set up before changing stuff. Get it set up to fit your needs. We are all individual. Set ups will very accordingly. I took care of the excess bass by carefully adjusting the pole pieces in the pickups to achieve balance across the strings -- and cutting bass a bit in my pedal controls and amp. I may yet change hardware, but not until they prove my current assessment wrong or my needs change. I am still getting to know these P90s. So far, I am enjoying them and their difference from humbuckers. Overall, very nice guitar. Good value. I won't make comparisons to similar Gibson models, as they are in a different league and price point. This instrument stands quite proudly on its own.

I started by renting this during 1/2 price rental day. Bought it two weeks later. This guitar has a sound all its own. Clean sounds are great. Add a bit of dirt and it is just yummy. I don't even notice the 60 cycle hum. Unplugged it is surprisingly clear and full for a small bodied guitar. The 339 sized body fits me so well. I love the clean sound so much, I don't feel need to add an electric acoustic. A bit of chorus, or reverb and wee bit of low speed and depth tremolo and this is a Casino sound. When I got it, it had to be set up again. Action was high. Then there was fret buzz at the 11th and 12th frets of the D and A strings. Took it back and the tech found some frets had slightly popped. Fixed that while I waited. Great service at Whyte Ave store in Edmonton. Hey, it's not a Gibson, but at 1/4 to 1/5 the price of an ES390, it is more than worth the price.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
