The music for Il est ne, le divin Enfant (He is Born, the Divine Christ-Child) was first published in 1862 in a collection "Airs de Noels lorrains". This four-hand-piano arrangement takes its cues from the lyrics, written a few years later, by using a variety of effects, all of which suggest merriment. There's even a toe-tapping, set-your-feet-a-dancing ending.
