Carl Michael Bellman, a contemporary of Mozart, was a poet and improviser whose songs were much admired by the Swedish nobility. I have taken three (Fjarlin vingad syns p? Haga; Drick ur ditt glas: Aldrig en Iris), and arranged them in combinations of pop and jazz styles, with an accompaniment of synthesizer, bass and drums. (Ward Swingle)
