Description

The Microtubes Infinity follows in the footsteps of the programmable Darkglass range and incorporates its three legendary Microtube distortions: B3K, Vintage and X. It allows multiband compression on all modes, mixing of impulse responses between distortions and the addition of additional controls via the Darkglass suite for an infinite number of features: an infinite number of possibilities.

Compressor
This control adjusts the compressor's input gain, which determines the signal compression level. The intelligent gain compensation algorithm keeps the compressor's output level at a usable level. The compressor offers five ratios: 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, 20:1, and "All Input".

Distortion
The Microtubes Infinity has 5 different preamp modes: a clear multiband tube preamp, Microtubes B3K and Vintage Microtubes distortions in normal and multiband modes.

Office Simulation
The Microtubes Infinity board supports impulse response (IR) simulations and has five slots for these simulations. The default IRs were selected by the Darkglass team. New IRs can be assigned to the five slots via the Darkglass suite (desktop or mobile version).

Mix
The mix control allows you to blend the saturated/pre-amplified signal with the clean side-chain signal. Depending on the distortion/pre-amplification setting, the clean side-chain signal is either a wideband or a lowband signal.

EQ
The final element in the signal chain is a 6-band programmable graphic equalizer that allows you to fine-tune your sound even further.

Connections

Entrance
This is the main instrument input for the Microtubes Infinity. Connect your instrument or the output of your pedalboard to the 6.35 mm (1/4") mono jack.

At the In
The Microtubes Infinity's stereo input allows you to play backing tracks during rehearsals or recording. Connect your mobile phone, laptop, etc., to the 3.5 mm stereo jack.

Headphone output
The headphone output accepts headphones with an impedance of 16,600 ohms. Plug your headphones into the 3.5 mm stereo jack and adjust the desired level using the dedicated potentiometer located next to the jack.

Direct output
An XLR output with grounding switch ensures a reliable standard connection to a mixing console or external audio interface for a guaranteed low-noise signal.

MIDI In
A standard 3.5 mm TRS jack (type B) allows an external MIDI controller to be connected to the Microtubes Infinity for even more flexibility.

USB
The USB-C port enables the Microtubes Infinity's USB audio interface and allows interaction with the Darkglass Suite desktop application, enabling software updates and access to the Darkglass IR library, which contains hundreds of speaker cabinet simulations. USB MIDI is also supported.

Balanced Results
The two balanced outputs offer great routing flexibility and allow you to use the Microtubes Infinity as a complete audio interface. Connect your studio monitors, amplifier, or other effects to the balanced 6.35 mm jacks (Tip +, Ring -, Sleeve GND) using a TRS connector. If you are using an unbalanced input, connect an instrument cable with a mono 6.35 mm plug (Tip +, Ring -, Sleeve GND).
