The Nova bass recorder is made of a light and durable ABS resin offering great tone production without the price and management needs of a wooden instrument. With a conical bore this bass recorder offers a dark and rounded sound throughout the over two octave range. Dolmetsch makes their tone-holes as small as possible and undercut where necessary. This blueprint comes alive to create an instrument ideal for someone looking to dip their toes into the world of bass recorder.

The Dolmetsch recorders trace their designs through a long history of recorder making. The exterior designs of their recorders are based off surviving examples of original recorders dating back to the 19th century.
