The Fender® American Vintage II series offers a remarkably faithful reproduction of the groundbreaking models that shaped music history. Crafted with period-correct bodies, necks, and hardware, premium finishes, and meticulously tuned, year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the very essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and sound.

The Telecaster® Custom marked one of Fender's first forays into the use of humbucker pickups. It featured a three-way selector switch located on the top of the body and two volume and tone controls mounted on a stylish, elongated pickguard. The Telecaster® Custom American Vintage II 1977 faithfully reproduces the iconic sound and feel of the original model.

This Telecaster features a Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and a Pure Vintage '77 Tele® single-coil pickup in the bridge position. To recreate the authentic sound of the Wide Range humbucker, we've revived the CuNiFe magnets, which haven't been produced since 1981 and are essential for faithfully reproducing the tone of the original model. The American Vintage II 1977 Telecaster Custom offers exceptional playability thanks to its flamed maple neck with a 1977 "C" profile, a maple or rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25" radius, and vintage-style high frets. It also features a Telecaster bridge with six cylindrical steel saddles, "F"-stamped tuners, a bullet-style truss rod nut, and a three-bolt neck plate with a Micro-Tilt™ mechanism.
