Description
The Ecstasy amplifier was born in 1992, and decades later, Bogner continues to handcraft each amp, one by one, right here in Los Angeles, California. The Ecstasy Blue pedal captures the classic tone of the blue channel of this legendary amplifier, renowned for its ability to deliver an iconic and timeless rock 'n' roll crunch. Everyone knows the blue channel offers exceptional Plexi tones, but when things get tough, make no mistake: it can also absolutely shred.
Reinhold designed the blue Ecstasy pedal with four discrete Class A gain stages, without op-amps or diode clipping, thus replicating the blue channel circuit of the Ecstasy amplifiers. This revolutionary approach delivers clarity, touch sensitivity, and note separation never before achieved in overdrive pedals.
The Ecstasy Blue is powered by a standard 9V battery or a 9VDC AC adapter. Reinholds' advanced internal circuitry raises the voltage significantly. This higher voltage provides a wider dynamic range, faithfully reproducing the feel of the legendary tube amplifiers in the Ecstasy range.
Features:
- True bypass
- Boost function with independently backlit volume and gain controls
- Main controls: volume, treble, midrange, bass and gain
- Variac On/Off switch: adds reduced-voltage dynamic compression to the sound and feel.
- Mode selector: Plexi and Blue offer lower vintage gain levels or higher modified gain levels.
- Pre-equalization switch: settings B1, N and B2 control the openness and presence of upper harmonics.
- Structure selector: the 100, 101 and 20th anniversary settings offer EQ modifications and gain structures from different eras/models of Ecstasy amplifiers.
- Sockets: input, output and remote control.
- The remote socket allows control of the on/off and boost functions via a remote switch.
- Low battery indicator: LEDs flash when the battery voltage drops below the critical threshold.
- High-end components include: double-sided gold-plated circuit boards, German WIMA capacitors, Japanese Nichicon capacitors, gold-plated relays, Carling switches and much more.
