A fantastic little effects cymbal from Paiste's high-end Signature Dark Energy series. The 8" Dark Energy Splash has a dark, complex and slightly trashy character, with a wet, explosive attack and very short decay. It's soft and highly responsive, making it excellent for quick accents, dynamic playing, and adding color without overpowering the rest of the kit.
It has a wide, rich frequency range with a brittle/trashy edge that gives it more character than a typical bright splash. The response is immediate and lively, with a quick, sparkling explosion and fast fade. It can also be used for hand playing/percussion setups. Paiste rates it as Light weight / Soft volume.
