Description
The Conn 2H is an early model of tenor trombone that was made under the "Wurlitzer" banner instead of Conn. Its features an exceptionally small bore for trombone at .458", well within trumpet bore territory. The small bore offers a mellower tone due to needing less air to play, this being said, small bore trombones are favoured by jazz and commercial players due to their overall bright and direct timbre and ability to produce delicate high notes as well as a burning sound when pushed. This trombone has a 7" bell, small again by todays standards, but fitting for this instrument offering good projection.
The 2H was first played by Arthur Pryor, a legendary trombonist from the early 20th century who is often referred to as the father of the modern trombone. This instrument is a large part of Pryors sound, which was foundational to the todays trombone sound.
This 2H is silver plated everywhere except for the face of the bell. The brushed finish applied everywhere except the bell engraving lets this horns stand out from the rest. Its unique finishing paired with its tight and narrow tubing give this horn an unmistakeably vintage look, complementing its mature sound.
**This horn is housed in a Pro-Tec Max case (MX306CTS) and comes with the original lyre included with original outfit.
