Each Gemeinhardt piccolo brings with it four generations of flute-making artistry. Available in a variety of models to meet the needs of beginning students to the most advanced professionals, Gemeinhardt piccolos are renowned for their accuracy of intonation and remarkable sound. All models have a conical bore that provides consistent response and intonation through all registers, and offer features that are designed to give outstanding performance year after year with minimal maintenance.
The metal headjoint is designed to be close to that of a flute, meaning it is easier to get started on the piccolo when coming from a flute background while still producing the charming sound desired from piccolos. An ABS resin body is a common trait of student level wood-winds. It offers the same timbral character as a Grenadilla body found on a higher-level instrument, without the need to maintain humidity levels per risks of cracking and warping. It is also a more durable material, offering peace of mind when in the hands of little ones.
