Description
The Yamaha YOB841LT is their flagship oboe and a shining example of the excellence of their excellence in instrument engineering.
Every piece of this oboe is crafted and assembled by hand by Yamahas finest craftspeople at their in house factory in Japan. The body is made of grenadilla wood and features Yamahas own "DUET+" technology on the upper joint. "DUET+" offers an Ebonite lined upper joint providing providing extra protection from moisture soaking into the body making the instrument more susceptible to damage from changes in humidity and temperature without compromising the timbre of the oboe.
The full conservatoire key work on the 800 series oboes are all brazed and hand-adjusted to optimize the balance of each individual instrument by skilled Yamaha artisans. The 841 also features a 'Philadelphia D key' helping to improve intonation and response on a key often considered tricky.
Along with the hand drawn and undercut tone holes, this oboe is equipped with a nickel-silver bell ring, increasing the effective density of to further improve the resonance and tone of the instrument.
