Innovation achieved
The Modern Eagle V is an innovative instrument offering a rich and musical sound, both in the studio and on stage. Thanks to its humbucker/single-coil/humbucker (five-coil) pickup configuration and unique electronics, the Modern Eagle V offers a wide range of tones. The five-way selector switch allows for intuitive pickup selection: treble, treble and mid, mid, mid and low, and low. A volume potentiometer and a push/pull tone control activate both humbuckers simultaneously, allowing access to all three pickups at once. Finally, mini-switches allow for individual coil splitting of the humbuckers to achieve single-coil tones. This electronics provide a full range of classic and modern sounds.

Other features include a maple top and mahogany back, a Pattern mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, a 25-inch scale length, a bone nut, and a patented PRS Gen III vibrato.

For 2024, PRS Guitars is updating the tuners on many Core models. While the aesthetics of the new Wing knobs are inspired by the wingspan of a bird at the 12th fret, their design, dating back to 1982, was primarily aimed at optimizing tone. Lighter than their metal predecessors, these knobs absorb less energy from the vibrating strings, allowing the guitar to resonate longer and with greater musicality.
