Description
This trombone is constructed entirely of modular trombone parts available from S.E Shires. Shires has been handcrafting brass instruments in Holliston, Massachusetts since 1995, with a particular specialty in trombones and other low brass instruments. They are beloved across the entirety of the trombone community for their adaptable catalogue of instruments and instrument parts, this trombone being a shining example.
This horn is centered around a single rotary valve section. The rotary valve offers a secure feel and articulation with a stable response throughout the entire range of the instrument. It's quick and light action has made it the most common of all rotary valves available.
The Shires "CHI" bell is designed with the Chicago low brass sound in mind. Broad throughout the bell throat, the medium weight, one-piece gold brass construction provides and warm and layered sound.
The handslide on this horn is Shires "T47" model. It is their most standard large-bore slide and offers an even sound and feel.
***This instrument is listed as used due to the slide and valve section being used. The bell and tuning slide are both brand new. The trombone is housed in a protec case and comes with three leadpipes (Shires 1,2,3) and a Warburton-Ovedo 1.5 mouthpiece.
