Description
While P Mauriat are these days known more for their saxophones, their trmpets have proven to be formidable instruments in the right hands.
With a one-piece gold brass leadpipe and a rounded tuning slide this trumpet presents itself with resistance farther back in the instrument and offers a fantastic free blowing feel. A .460" large bore leading to one-piece yellow brass 4 3/4" bell lets this horn have a full sound that projects in all registers of the instrument. This horn carries a round and compact sound with a bright and dry edge to it. The stainless steel valves are perhaps the greatest draw to this horn. With a quick and light feel and recessed buttons for greater ergonomics, the valve block is fitted with weighted top and bottom caps to balance the instrument to further its even and resonant feel.
P Mauriat instruments of all varieties are know for their beautiful finishes, and this trumpet is testament to that fact. The unlacquered nature of the finish has let this horn develop a beautiful patina over its 10 years of previous use, a finish which will continue to develop alongside its owner.
