Andrzej Ryszka (Drums)

Family considerations brought Andrzej from Poland to Calgary in 1990, and he has maintained a thriving playing career on both continents ever since. His European work has won gold records, and in Canada he has toured with the Roadhammers, Tom Jackson, Lisa Brokop and Patricia Conroy. Andrzej is sought after as a studio musician, performer and teacher, and we are thrilled that he will be offering instruction through our studios. Andrzej offers lessons in Calgary at the South store and his rate is $30 per half hour.

Chrysanthema Pashunkova - B. Mus. DMA, RMT (Violin, Viola, Strings)

Chrysanthema has an extensive background in teaching and playing violin. She has her DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia and has studied all over the world. She is currently involved in the Vancouver Early Music Programme and is an executive on the Board for ARMTA. Conor is an up-and-coming, enthusiastic member of the Calgary music community. He obtained a diploma in Jazz Music Performance at Mount Royal University in 2014 and continued on to achieve a Bachelor of Music at Ambrose University in 2017. Conor has experience playing a variety of styles of music including jazz, jazz-fusion, rock, pop, blues, funk and Latin. Conor looks forward to meeting and working with students of all skill levels. Dave has been producing music since the early 1980's and has owned and operated his own studio, Hamiltone Productions, since 1990. He has been playing guitar professionally for over 30 years and has won the "Alberta Instrumentalist of the Year" award for three consecutive years, 1990 / 91 / 92. He plays and teaches Country, Country Rock, Pop Music, Jazz, Western Swing and various other styles of music. Dave offers lessons in Calgary at the South store and his rate is $30 per half hour.

Georgia began playing piano at age 6, and began playing the upright bass at age 14, and in the process, she developed a strong interest in jazz music. Georgia obtained her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Capilano University in 2007. After graduation, Georgia extensively toured North America and Europe with numerous Jazz Bands prior to settling in the Calgary area in 2011. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Georgia offers a flexible, fun and professional approach to music teaching that will help anyone achieve their musical aspirations. Gus grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden. His introduction to music was on the violin at age 6, but at age 12 the music of Queen inspired him to switch to guitar. He spent 5 years touring and recording with the Swedish reggae band “Dubadown.” Studies in jazz and music education in Sweden were followed by a jazz degree at Capilano University in Vancouver. He has now decided to experience life on the east side of the Rockies and build a teaching career in Calgary. Gus offers lessons in Calgary at the South store and his rate is $27 per half hour.

Jaci returned to Calgary in 2005, after completing a bachelor of music degree at the University of Toronto. Jaci has studied guitar with Jeffrey McFadden in Toronto, and Ralph Maier in Calgary. She has also performed & recorded with the University of Calgary guitar ensemble. Jaci enjoys teaching all ages and levels, and believes that every student is capable, given individualized instruction. Jessica's family is filled with musicians and artists who encouraged her to explore her talent. She was influenced by Joni Mitchell, Jane Siberry, Kate Bush, XTC, and the great jazz musicians. She earned a jazz diploma from Mount Royal University in 2003 and a B.A. Music from the University of Calgary in 2015. Jessica has been singing and writing songs since she was a small child, and has been recording and releasing independent recordings since 1998. Stewart has been playing violin since he was eight and initially learned with the Suzuki Method. He has played in a string group called Viva!, with the Ambrose University Orchestra, the Regina University Orchestra, the Harmony West Band, and busked at the Calgary Farmers Market. Stewart has completed RCM Grade 8, and knows the importance of strengthening the ear as well as reading skills. Stewart has experience in classical, Spanish, and modern inspired music, as well as fiddle. Though his university degree is in Film & Video Production, violin is a big part of his life. In his teaching, Stewart believes that having a goal to work towards gives lessons and practice direction, but the most important aspect in success is to have fun while you learn. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Tim has established himself as one of the most in-demand musicians in Canada. He performs regularly with the Calgary Philharmonic and has performed with most of the major orchestras across the country including the Toronto Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, and a tour to the Lincoln Center in New York with the National Ballet of Canada. In addition to his active performance schedule Tim has a passion for teaching the next generation of drummers and percussionists and enjoys teaching anything from drumset to pipe band snare drum and everything in between.
