Online Lessons:

Rafael is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist specializing in woodwinds. In addition to being a classical saxophonist, he has performed professionally on clarinets, flutes, bassoon, trumpets, tuba, and percussion in concert bands, classical and avant-garde chamber ensembles, church services, pit orchestras for musical theatre, and Regency Ball events.

His music education started in junior high with private saxophone lessons at Alberta College (MacEwan University). He joined music festivals and all the advanced bands he could get into, including the ECSD Junior and Senior All-City Concert Bands, ECSD All Star Jazz Band, Music Camp Alberta, and the University of Alberta Concert Band. His music education culminated in a Bachelor of Arts in Music from The King’s University, during which he sang in various choirs including Kapella Kyrie and Pro-Coro Connect and played in the University of Alberta Marching Band, Summer Band, and Symphony Orchestra.

Rafael believes very much in making instruments “sing” and finding music hidden beneath the notes on the page. He loves to see his students learn, progress in skill, and, most importantly, have fun with music and their instrument.

His rate is $30 per half hour
