Alex Ward (Piano, Upright Bass, Trombone) Registration Request

Alex teaches piano, bass & trombone, & works regularly with theatre companies such as Western Canada Theatre & Project X Theatre Productions. Alex is also a member of Kamloops-based band, Mother Sun, who are currently recording their debut album at Little Red Sound Studios in Vancouver. He has studied piano, organ, bass (electric & upright), trombone & violin & has played with Provincial & District Honour Bands as well as the Kamloops Big Band. Alex teaches students of all ages & levels. His rate is $24 per half hour lesson.

Jackson Marshall (Guitar,) Registration Request

Jackson attended Capilano University & Douglas College where he studied jazz & classical guitar, theory & musicianship. His performance background includes rock, metal, jazz, folk, pop & blues. Jackson teaches in many styles & enjoys improvisation & jamming in his lessons. He works with beginner to advanced students of all ages. His rate is $25 per half hour.

Jayson has studied RCM Classical Piano & Theory (Lvl 9) & continues to study to enhance his knowledge of music & music education. In his spare time, Jayson writes & records his own music. In addition to his love of classical music, Jayson uses pop, rock & jazz in his lessons. His rate is $24 per half hour.

Jim Cochran (Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Lap Steel,) Registration Request

Jim started teaching in 1971 at Curly’s Music in Kamloops. He studied music at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton & has been playing professionally for over 30 years. During that time, Jim has performed in everything from duos to 11 piece show bands, has hosted many years of ‘Jam Sessions’ in Kamloops and currently plays with The Serious Dogs. Jim teaches a wide variety of music styles in guitar, bass, beginner ukulele & mandolin & works with students of all ages. His rate is $25 per half hour.

Sean has over 30 years experience as a versatile performer, producer & studio musician. He has been teaching guitar, bass, & drums for over 10 years, while continuing to remain an active performer & recording artist. He enjoys incorporating theory, improvisation, composition & group performance into his lessons. His rate is $25 per half hour.

Stacey Grant (Piano, Oboe,) Registration Request

With over 20 years of teaching experience in Piano & Oboe, Stacey enjoys working with students of all ages in both classical & popular styles of music. She works to instill a strong sense of theory education & technique in her students. Stacey holds RCM Grade 10 certification in both instruments & performs performs as Principal Oboe with both The Thompson Valley Orchestra and The Kamloops Brandenburg Orchestra. Her rate is $24 per half hour lesson.

Tina has been teaching and performing in the Kamloops area for over 20 years. She studied classical guitar at Capilano College and The Victoria Conservatory of Music, incorporating classical skills into her ukulele playing & teaching. Tina has instructed at numerous ukulele festivals and enjoys being a mentor to her students. Tina teaches classical guitar and ukulele to students of all ages. Her rate is $25 per half hour.
