Welcome L&M Moncton's Lesson Centre! We have two locations: one at the L&M Moncton store on 245 Carson Drive, and one at the Dieppe Arts & Culture Centre on 331 avenue Acadie, in Dieppe. We have 20 well equipped lesson studios between the two locations. If you have ever aspired to learn a musical instrument or you want to improve your skills and knowledge, this is the place for you! Ben earned his Bachelor of Arts degree (Major in Music) from Mount Allison University where he took classes on Theory, History, Composition, Analysis, Arranging, Methods and Teaching. He began taking drum lessons at the age of 12 and then took bass and guitar shortly after. He began teaching in 2015 and has been teaching drums, guitar, bass, ukulele, song writing and production techniques all over the maritimes. Ben plays rock, metal, acoustic, fusion and electronica and acts as composer and producer for various musical projects. Ben loves discussing writing techniques, production and advanced music theory concepts. His rates are $25 per half hour session.

David was born in Cherbourg, France, and began playing guitar at the age of 14 under the influence of his first teacher, Daniel Cordhomme. At 16, he took Stéphane Fleury's jazz class and enrolled at the municipal music school with Fabrice Paris. After three years of classical guitar studies, he graduated with honors. Wishing to evolve musically, he moved to Paris to perfect his skills in the theory and practice of modern music at the American Jazz School, where he took guitar lessons with Mike O'Neil. The following year, he met Sammy Daussat, with whom he learned gypsy guitar. At the age of 27, he joined the class of Mariapina Roberti (international concert artist), who opened up new musical horizons for him, and with whom he organized a duo concert. David has also performed on Parisian stages such as the Café de Paris and the Chat Noir. His rate is $24 per half-hour for private lessons.

Doug is currently studying for his Bachelors of Education and he has a Bachelor of Music. With studies in many different musical genres such as rock, country, pop, classical and jazz, his knowledge in those areas are significant and will be able to guide you towards your musical goals. Doug teaches guitar, bass guitar, ukulele and music theory (reading the musical staffs, scales, tonalites and rhythm). He loves to practice other instruments such as the alto saxophone, violin, trumpet and drums. He is always enthusiastic and patient when it comes to teaching, and teaches to all ages! Lessons are offered in English, French and Spanish. His rates are $24 per half-hour private lesson.

James has pursued an active career as teacher and collaborative pianist since arriving in Moncton in 2018. He holds a doctorate (D. Mus) in Piano Performance from the Université de Montréal; and studied under teachers Carol McWilliams, Janice Elliot-Denike, Kent McWilliams, Marc Durand, Maneli Pirzadeh and Jean Saulnier. He enjoys teaching students of all ages and is committed to helping students achieve personal goals at the piano as well as prepare for exams (RCM) and competitions. His rate is $24 per half-hour private class.

Naomi started playing music as a young child and has always been passionate about sharing the beauty of music through both performance and teaching. She has been an active performer across New Brunswick and Canada from an early age, winning awards such as National Music Festival Grand Award (2017) and the NYO Award of Excellence (2019-20). Naomi earned her Bachelor of Music focusing on flute performance from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and has performed and toured with ensembles such as NYO Canada, the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony NB. She loves watching music transform people’s lives and helping others learn to express themselves through playing their instruments. Naomi's rate is $26 per half-hour lesson.

Serge earned his degree in classical saxophone performance from the Université of Moncton in 2007. Having taught students since his third year at the university, he has also been playing with various groups and tackling all styles, notably The Moncton Mingus Band, which specializes in jazz improvisation. He practices cabaret-style singing while accompanying himself on the piano. His rate is $26 per half-hour lesson.

Yanick earned his Masters degree at Université de Montréal in 2008 specializing in classical guitar. He has been teaching music since 2006 and has always had a great passion for musical education. Yanick has played guitar since the age of 11 and hasn't stopped learning and playing since. His style of music is very global and he is comfortable teaching most music styles. In the classical music category, so far, nine gold medals from the Royal Conservatory of Music have been earned under his guidance. He also got Platinum in Moncton Community Votes 2022 for the Music Lessons category, and “Silver” in the 2023 votes for the Youth Music Lessons category. Yanick will be happy to teach you how to play guitar, bass or ukulele. His rates are $25 per half hour private lesson.
Our Group Lessons:

Rock Camp 2025 is coming up next month! The camp will be Monday-Friday, from July 14 until July 19. The concert will be on Saturday, July 19, at 3pm, at the Dieppe Arts & Culture Centre. The bands will showcase what they've been working on all week. The camp is for students ages 9-17 with experience with their instrument (guitar, drums, piano, voice, keys, etc.). Students will be placed in bands led by our teachers, and they will prepare and practice songs for the concert at the end of the week. Throughout the camp there will be activities and workshops led by L&M teachers. The camp costs $400 per student.

Baby Beats is weekly 45-minute music and movement class for children ages 6-24 months. These classes introduce music concepts using a play-based approach. Students are encouraged to interact with music through singing, dancing, listening, and playing a variety of handheld instruments to develop basic musical skills. These classes build safe, trusting relationships amongst students. Each class is $20 for a total of $160 for the summer 2025 session.
