Emily, an RCM Grade 9 classical pianist and voice teacher from Halifax has been teaching for over a decade. Since graduating from Dalhousie University in 2005, Emily has been teaching classical piano and musical theater privately. Her teaching style balances technique and performance, ensuring her students are skilled and expressive whether they are learning RCM curriculum or pop songs. As well as teaching, Emily has worked as an accompanist (Halifax Dance, Ross Creek Centre for the Arts, Kiwansis Music Festival), performer (IDOW Festival , Grafton Street Dinner Theater, Two Planks and a Passion), and composer, releasing her debut album “Jump with Me,” in 2015. Emily has recently moved to Saint John after spending a year teaching musical theater in South Korea. She is excited to join the Saint John Long & McQuade team and is looking forward to teaching here for many years to come. Emily's rate per half hour is $27.00

Kayla graduated from Acadia University in 2021 with a Bachelors of Music Therapy degree and is now a practicing Music Therapist in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
While studying at Acadia, Kayla majored in voice focusing on classical performance and vocal technique. She enjoys all types of music and has experience singing a variety of genres.
Kayla has previous experience teaching privately and is currently offering voice lessons at Long and McQuade St John on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays. Her rate is $27 for a half hour.

As a knowledgeable teacher, Nick brings a range of experiences and training to his lessons. Starting as a young child, Nick began his musical journey on piano and in marching bands. From there, he progressed into drums, mandolin, guitar, and vocals, eventually taking lessons from several renowned musicians. As a touring musician, Nick played with notable musicians including Ken Greer and Tom Cochrane. Nick is great with musicians of all ages and levels and looks forward to meeting you either in person or online! His rate is $27 per half hour.

Sam began playing guitar in 1987 and shortly after high school enrolled in the Bachelor of Music program at St. Francis Xavier in Antigonish NS. He earned a Music Ed degree in 1996 and moved back to Saint John to pursue playing in various local bands as well as writing and recording original music. Sam has played extensively with the Steve Waylon Band, Candy Heart, Sidekick and The Mix. He's also been fortunate to back Canadian country recording artists Chris Cummings, Julian Austin and Joan Kennedy. Sam has produced two albums for Chipman native Steve Waylon and the two have enjoyed serveral trips to Switzerland promoting these recordings. Sam's rate per half hour is $27.00

With over 25 years of teaching experience, multi-instrumentalist Scott is a highly experienced and passionate musician and pedagogue. Starting on guitar at age 12, his passion grew for music as he gained proficiency on brass and woodwind instruments through community bands. After completing a Bachelor of Music at Acadia University, Scott returned to his roots and worked as the music director/conductor and training officer of the Mersey Band where his duties included teaching all new members of the band, regardless of age or skill level. After studying at Western University in London, ON, earning a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance and Pedagogy, Scott worked as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor in southern Ontario for several years before returning to the Maritimes in 2023 to work as the Clarinet Teaching Artist at the Saint John Centre for SistemaNB. Scott teaches all single-reed woodwinds, flute, brass, and guitar. Scott's rate per half hour is $28.00.

Tony, a graduate of UNB, is a multi- instrumentalist with 52 years of music experience and education, with certifications from the RCM and Berklee College of Music. Tony has studied guitar, piano, saxophone, flute and clarinet under many renowned instrumentalists. Ongoing professional music development is important to Tony and thus he has completed music courses from the California Institute of the Arts, Duke University and University of Rochester NY. Tony offers a unique teaching style which accommodates a variety of music learners, from beginners to advanced; children, youth and adults. Tony's rate per half hour is $27.00
