Welcome to Dartmouth's largest music lesson centre located at 124 Main street, Dartmouth. We offer 15 spacious studios in house and our very own recital room. Our studios are equipped with state of the art keyboards and acoustic upright pianos as well as a Yamaha Concert Grand. We offer lessons in violin, viola, cello, all woodwind and brass, all styles piano, guitar (electric and acoustic), banjo, ukulele, bodhran, percussion and drumset.

Adrian is currently the third generation of music teachers in his family, with his sensibility and saintly patience woven directly into his DNA. With over 20 years of playing and performing experience, he's at ease with various guitar styles and is able and willing to customize the lesson path based on an individual’s stylistic preference. A student of St. F.X’s jazz program and a graduate of NSCC’s music program in Dartmouth, Adrian’s musical journey has been marked by accomplishments in writing, arranging, and performing with various ECMA and Nova Scotia Music Award nominees and winners. Now, Adrian brings his expertise to you in lesson format, offering instruction for all levels of guitar as well as beginner bass and keyboard lessons. His rate per 30 minute private session is $27

Brad has a music degree from Dalhousie University and has been playing in local and national bands for the last 17 years. He has appeared on stage with a number of acts such as Nathan Wiley, Blue Rodeo, Sam Roberts, Dutch Mason, Matt Mays, and Jill Barber, received a Juno during his tenure with “Johnny Favourite” and currently he plays regularly with “The Mellotones”, “The Metric System”, “Joe Murphy”, “The Hopping Penguins”, and hosts a long standing weekly blues jam at Bearly’s. He’s been teaching for the last 16 years and is a regular coach at Summer Rock. His rate for a half-hour private lesson is $30.

Jeffery has a Bachelors of Arts with a major in music [saxophone] from Dalhousie , University. He played with the back up band to the Platters, Dan Aykroyd and the Blues Brothers, and others. Currently he is front man for the Mellotones and the Metric System. He has taught at Summer Rock, and the Acadia Jazz Camp, as well as privately. His rate for a 1/2 hour private lesson is $30.00.

Jesse comes from two musical families that are deeply rooted in Labrador Metis and Nova Scotian Folk traditions. With over 25 years of performing, producing, and composing experience, his ability to share a message of growth and passion for music suits a wide range of students in the beginner and intermediate levels. After attending two years of music arts at NSCC focusing on Bass and Upright Bass, Jesse has had the fortune of writing, arranging, and performing with various ECMA and Nova Scotia Music Award nominees and winners. Jesse offers intermediate level instruction in Bass, Drums, Guitar, Mandolin, and Ukulele. His rate per 30-minute private session is $28.

John is a graduate of the NSCC Music Arts program with extensive experience playing and performing in a wide variety of genres. From the age of 12 he was drumming in bands in the local all-ages alternative music scene, and simultaneously became involved in the Los Primos Program, performing in youth latin jazz combos around Halifax. Since graduating he has been splitting his time between teaching, touring, recording, and performing with diverse acts such as Loveland, Harley Alexander, New Love Underground, and many more. John continues to immerse himself in new concepts, styles, and musical environments. His rate is $29.00 for a private half hour lesson.

John has a Bachelors in Music in Voice from Mount Allison University and grade 8 Royal Conservatory of Music piano. John originally entered university on trombone but switched to voice after two years. He has sung both solo and chorally with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, the Elora Festival Singers, Nathaniel Dett Chorale, Mississauga Choral Society, and the Toronto Jewish Folk Choir among others, and he took on the lead role of Pierre Elliott Trudeau in Vocalypse Productions’ presentation of G. E. Clarke and D.D. Jackson’s opera Trudeau: Long March/Shining Path. John has produced a CD of his own pop/adult compositions called ‘A Labour of Love’. He has been teaching music since 1994 and his rate for a half-hour private lesson is $30.

With a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Performance from Dalhousie University under his belt, Matt Gallant has been involved in the music industry for 25 years. He has worked with professional artists including Amelia Curran, Erin Costelo, Ben Caplan, Dave Sampson, Adam Baldwin, Roxy and the Underground Soul Sound, Willie Stratton and has toured internationally with The Brood.
Whether engaging in community and professional theatre projects, workshops or working with bands, Matthew brings a vast musical experience, eagerness and passion. Matthew is not shy to crowds - he has facilitated many workshops to large groups and has played over 3,000 shows.
Matthew plays with people across cultures, most notably the Open Borders International MusicGroup that assembles 20+ musicians from different cultures to create extremely unique and vibrant shows. If you want to learn drums Matt would be a great teacher to introduce you to the vast world of music! Matthew is $29 per half hour lesson.

A founding member of Halifax funk and soul legends The Mellotones, Mike has 20 plus years of live and recording experience in the music industry. He’s performed and/or
recorded with a diverse list of maritime artists: Garrett Mason, Dutch Mason, Matt Mays, David Myles, Jill Barber, Erin Costello, The Mellotones, Matt Andersen, Nathan Wiley.
He can be heard most recently on Matt Andersen’s “Halfway Home By Morning” album, which was recorded in Nashville and toured across the country in 2019. He also played on Matt Mays’ Juno award winning album “Coyote” and Garrett Masons’ Juno
nominated album “Love and Sound”. Mike studied bass at the now defunct Canadian
Conservatory of Music with Pat Riley. Mike is $30 per half hour lesson.

Nicholas earned a BA in Music (Jazz Studies) from St. Francis Xavier University and has since studied with internationally renowned musicians such as Wayne Krantz, Oz Noy, Howard Alden and Jim Campilongo. He is active in the local music scene, currently playing with Alana Yorke, Gabrielle Papillon and Andrew Watt and the Glory Glory. Nicholas teaches guitar, beginner bass and lap steel guitar, and enjoys teaching many styles from modern and classic rock to jazz, blues, metal and country. Pat has a Certificate in arranging and composition from the Berklee College of Music, has gigged with many of the top names in the musical universe, and is mentor to some of the best musicians in Atlantic Canada. He was the main host of the CBC Rock Camp series and currently sings, writes, produces, and is a top session player. He is one of the founders and currently the director of Summer Rock Camp, has been teaching award and scholarship winning students since 1990s and is a Primary Instrument Instructor at the NSCC Music program. Rhéo Rochon is a Galaxie Rising Star award-winning professional bassist / guitarist / drummer who attended the jazz program at Humber College of Music in Etobicoke, Ontario. He has appeared on many acclaimed studio recordings and has toured extensively in Canada as well as in Scotland and The U.S.A. with several acts including The Garrett Mason & Keith Hallett Show, The Chronos Band, Cyndi Cain, Alan Jeffries, Tim Chaisson (East Pointers), Modern Grass and Carleton Stone (Port Cities).
Rhéo has shared the stage opening for many great artists such as Buddy Guy, Lauren Hill, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Charles Bradley, John Scofield, Junior Watson, Miles Goodwin (April Wine), Joel Plaskett, Matt Mays, and The Trews.
He is currently enjoying working with Keith Hallett, Wharf Rats, The Ordeals, WALL, Brad Conrad & The New Regulars, Little Barry & The Blue Devils, and Chris Kirby.
Rhéo is also busy as a sub filling in with many artists including The Mellotones, Campbell & Johnson’s Black Market Band, Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound, and Canadian icon Jann Arden.

Serkan is a session musician and a drum teacher in Halifax, NS. For over 25 years he has been playing and teaching percussion. He completed the Specialist Drummer Certification Program from Berklee College of Music in 2014. He has written 3 drum books which were published by Fundamental Changes, England: Rock Drumming for Beginners (2017), Drum Rudiments & Musical Application (2017) and 200 Paradiddle Exercises for Drums (2018). Over the last few years, he has been recording and performing with various artists such as Campbell & Johnston’s Band, Charlie A’court, Dan Doiron, Superfluid Collective and Tyler Mullendore. Since 2015, he has been representing Turkish Cymbals as an endorsing artist. He is offering drum lessons to students of any age and drumming experience (beginner, intermediate and advanced levels). Susan Sharpe (violin) began playing through the Halifax schools’ strings program. She has played in the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and Mount Allison String Ensemble, and continues to play orchestral music with the Halifax Music Co-op. Susan enjoys playing a wide range of music, from classical to fiddle to music from movies and video games. Always on the lookout for more opportunities to play in a group, her favorite musical experience is playing in big orchestras. With experience teaching in musical and academic settings, Susan has taught all ages from young children to adults. She enjoys introducing students to the violin, helping them reach the next level in their playing and seeing them succeed. Susan’s rate for a half hour lesson will be $28.

Trevor is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, he holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from St. FX University with a Major in Jazz Studies. Playing and studying music from the age of five, Trevor is no stranger to the local music and education scene and is a first call sideman performing and recording on saxophone, flute, piano and organ. He is a member of the Back Alley Big Band, The Chronos Band and Scott and The Rocks. Trevor has opened for such musical greats as Charles Bradley, John Scofield and Sharon Jones and the dap-kings at the TD Halifax Jazz Festival. Trevor enjoys teaching saxophone, flute, clarinet, piano, music Theory and improvisation. Trevor's rate for a 30-minute private music lesson is $28.

Yulia graduated with Honours from the Zaporozshky State Music College in the Ukraine and worked as a piano teacher and children’s choir director while taking courses at the Harkov Institute for Music and Arts there. In 2000 she taught piano for the New Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and in 2002 and 2003 was named teacher of the year. Yuliya specializes in preparing students for all levels of RCM exams, Kiwanis festivals, and other competitions. She has been teaching for Long & McQuade since 2004. Yuliya also teaches Music Theory.
