Private Lessons

Welcome to Dartmouth's largest music lesson centre located at 124 Main street, Dartmouth. We offer 15 spacious studios in house and our very own recital room. Our studios are equipped with state of the art keyboards and acoustic upright pianos as well as a Yamaha Concert Grand. We offer lessons in violin, viola, cello, all woodwind and brass, all styles piano, guitar (electric and acoustic), banjo, ukulele, bodhran, percussion and drumset. We also offer many classes such as; recording and electronic music production, string ensembles, musical theatre and even step dancing! Call us at 902-496-6966 and we can get you set up!

Amy Ewer (Piano)

Amy Ewer has a Bachelors of Music from Dalhousie University with a major in piano. She has played Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Prokofiev, among others in recitals at Dalhousie and other venues. Amy has been teaching music since 2009 and has years of experience working with children. Her rate for a half hour private lesson is $24

Brad Mcgoey (Guitar, Drums, Vocals, Bass, Piano)

Brad McGoey Teaches guitar and ukulele, beginner bass, drums and piano.
Brad graduated with honours from the Independent Music Program at Seneca College in 2008, and has been steadily building his musical career ever since, specializing in live performance, audio production, and education. He is a former faculty member at the Regent Park School of Music, leading guitar ensembles, a community band, and running summer music camps. He also led ukulele groups for seniors in Richmond Hill for 3 years, and has experience teaching children and adults with various exceptionalities. Brad is a fun and engaging teacher, and loves helping people of all ages develop a life-long joy of understanding and creating music. His rate for a half hour lesson is $24.

Dunnery Bond - Piano and Voice music lessons in Dartmouth

Dunnery Bond is a singer-songwriter who graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in 2015. He has appeared in six mainstage Neptune Theatre productions, won the nationally aired singing competition "The Next Star" in 2008, and has studied both classical and jazz piano for over sixteen years - including completing his Grade 9 RCM. He has performed with David Foster, Suzie McNeil, Bruce Guthro, Paula Cole, and many other artists. His rate for a half hour private lesson is $24

Greg Myra - Piano music lessons in Dartmouth

Greg Myra (Piano)

Halifax pianist Gregory Myra received his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance in 2009 from Dalhousie University. Upon graduation he accompanied the students of Professor Lucy Hayes-Davis at Dalhousie for two years. In 2011 he began studies at the University of Manitoba under Dr. Laura Loewen and graduated in 2013 with a Masters of Music in Collaborative Piano. He is currently the pianist for the voice studio of Professor Marcia Swanston at Dalhousie University. He has performed for five seasons with the Halifax Summer Opera Festival and has also performed with Opera Nova Scotia and the Dalhousie Chamber Series. Along with this he loves teaching piano to students of all ages, from beginner to advanced. Half-hour lessons with Greg are $23.

Janessa Stang began studying piano at the age of six and has been teaching private lessons since 2005. Janessa graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance in 2015 and holds a diploma as an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto in Piano Performance. Although Janessa’s formal education is classical, she is also very influenced by folk, rock, pop, and jazz. Her teaching tailors to the needs and interests of each student, while also emphasizing the fundamental elements of music, the foundation on which all different styles of music are built. With these building blocks in place, students can then pursue whatever style of piano they desire to play. She encourages her students to find their own connection to music and to let their personality and imagination shine through. Her rate for a 30-minute private lesson is $24.

John Lindsay-Botten - Voice, Piano, Brass music lessons in Dartmouth

John Lindsay-Botten (Voice, Piano, Brass)

John has a Bachelors in Music in Voice from Mount Allison University and grade 8 Royal Conservatory of Music piano. John originally entered university on trombone but switched to voice after two years. He has sung both solo and chorally with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, the Elora Festival Singers, Nathaniel Dett Chorale, Mississauga Choral Society, and the Toronto Jewish Folk Choir among others, and he took on the lead role of Pierre Elliott Trudeau in Vocalypse Productions’ presentation of G. E. Clarke and D.D. Jackson’s opera Trudeau: Long March/Shining Path. John has produced a CD of his own pop/adult compositions called ‘A Labour of Love’. He has been teaching music since 1994 and his rate for a half-hour private lesson is $24.00.

Karen studied, piano, organ and voice at Acadia University. For the last ten years she has been directing the choir and playing piano and organ for the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. She’s been teaching piano for 25 years and has been coordinating our keyboard Kids program for five years. She teaches classical technique but her students learn all styles. Katie Reid - Voice and Piano music lessons in Dartmouth

Katie Reid (Voice and Piano)

Katie has studied a variety of genres in both piano and voice, as well as music theory, composition, and performance. After working her way through the Royal Conservatory of Music, she attended Mount Allison University as a Piano Major in the Bachelor of Music Program. She later transferred to Nova Scotia Community College and completed the Music Arts Program as a Vocal Major, specializing in jazz, blues, folk and pop music. She has had the opportunity to perform on various stages, including The Marquee Ballroom, The Fredericton Play House, Saint John City Boardwalk, and CBC Radio. Her lessons are a happy blend of fundamental theory and feel-good music, which promise to be creative, entertaining and educational at all times! Her rate for a half-hour private lesson is $23.

Logan Bennett - Brass and Piano music lessons in Dartmouth

Logan Bennett (Brass and Piano)

Logan studied orchestral trumpet at the University of British Columbia, completing his master’s degree in 2014. He then went on to teach private music lessons at international schools for over two years. His travels took him to far off locations such as the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia. He has performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, and Westben Festival Orchestra. He has extensive solo performance experience as well as with brass ensembles such as the Vancouver Brass Project and Qatar Philharmonic Brass Ensemble. Logan has studied classical piano as well as trumpet, and enjoys performing his own piano improvisations when he can. half- hour lessons with Logan are $24.

Steffan has a Bachelor of Music from UBC in piano performance, an ARCT from the Royal Conservatory, and is a graduate of Trinity College of Music in London, England. He has performed and accompanied other musicians across Canada. Stefan has been teaching music since 1979 and gives workshops on piano pedagogy. His rate for a half-hour private lesson is $24.

Yuliya Zuychenko - Piano music lessons in Dartmouth

Yulia graduated with Honours from the Zaporozshky State Music College in the Ukraine and worked as a piano teacher and children’s choir director while taking courses at the Harkov Institute for Music and Arts there. In 2000 she taught piano for the New Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and in 2002 and 2003 was named teacher of the year. Yuliya specializes in preparing students for all levels of RCM exams, Kiwanis festivals, and other competitions. She has been teaching for Long & McQuade since 2004. Yuliya also teaches Music Theory.
