Charmain Stewart

Charmain has been with the Long & McQuade's lesson centre since 2003 and understands the importance of lessons and the needs of our students and their families. Charmain aims to create a welcoming environment to all students at the lesson centre that encourages musical exploration. As a student in guitar, she understands how important practice is.

Anthony Giavedoni has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Western Ontario, holds a Honours Bachelor Degree in Music from McMaster University, and has completed an apprenticeship program with the Screen Composers Guild of Canada. Anthony frequently performs covers and original material on bass guitar, vocals, drums and keyboards and has recorded extensively on these instruments in professional studios across Ontario. His rate is $24.00 per 1/2 hour lesson.

She is currently studying for her ARCT examination through the Royal Conservatory, and continues to add to her teaching qualifications. She is an active freelance musician for various artists including Andre Bisson, Jeff Scott and the Buddy RayVons, and Tapio Orkidea. Ian Brown (Aisling) is a composer, producer, and pianist based in Hamilton. Since graduating from the Mohawk College Applied Music program, he has been present in the scene writing music for films, games, and various collaborative projects while also performing as a sideman (ianaisling.com). In addition to learning piano, Ian’s approach to teaching caters to those interested in writing music, jazz improvisation, and how to connect with others musically. Ian always encourages an easygoing and fun learning environment for his students. His rate is $22 per ½ hour lesson.

Janelle holds a Bachelor of Education from The University of Western Ontario and an Honours Bachelor of Music from McMaster University, where she studied classical flute. She has worked in diverse schools across Hamilton and London as a music and arts teacher. As a woodwind player, she has performed in various ensembles and musical theatre settings around Ontario. Leah has been a performing singer songwriter in Hamilton for many years. She is an alumni of the prestigious Hamilton Children's Choir and has worked on professional studio recordings at the famous Grant Avenue Studio. She holds an Honours Diploma in vocal performance from Mohawk College and grade 6 RCM in piano. She had travelled to Nashville for song writing seminars and to Los Angeles for vocal coaching from celebrity vocal coach Lis Lewis. Shavini Fernando is a Jazz vocalist and a songwriter based in Hamilton, ON. She’s an Honours graduate of the Applied Music program at Mohawk College. Shavini started her musical life at the age of 8 as a singer in her home country of Sri Lanka and she migrated to Canada at the age of 14. Shavini has always linked her life to music through her participation in numerous choirs and bands, which she also has experience in conducting and directing. She has always kept in touch with her roots through music; sharing her musical talents at Sri Lankan and South Asian events in Canada, such as Sathsara Ravaya musical show, South Asian Heritage Association (SAHAHAR), and performing with her band at South Asian Heritage Month events. Shavini was a part of the Artword Artbar Theatre production 'MacBush, the Musical' (written by David Dawson) in 2016 and was a nominee for the Emerging Artist category at the Hamilton Arts Awards in 2016. Shavini's rate for a half-hour private lesson is $22.00.
