Ramsey is a trombonist and trumpeter with a passion for all things music. Coming from a diverse musical background, he finds immense joy in creating and performing almost all genres. His teaching style is engaging and relatable, putting emphasis on feeding students' curiosity and inspiring them to explore their instrument outside of the lesson studio.
Ramsey has received formal training from some of the city's most accomplished performers and educators, and is currently studying music performance at Carleton University, with an emphasis on Jazz Improvisation. Though he places great emphasis on consistent and regimented practice in his own playing, he firmly believes in keeping the enjoyment in music. With this philosophy, he seeks to motivate students into falling in love with making music the same way he did when he picked up a horn for the first time, while mitigating the frustration of plateaus that he knows all too well. It is his lifelong goal to help create as many musicians and music lovers as possible, whether hobbyist or future professional.
