Geng Zhang is an MMus candidate in Piano Performance at the University of Ottawa (BMus, Sichuan Normal University). Lessons begin with what the student enjoys and with what they can comfortably handle. Geng selects repertoire that fits both taste and level, then sets one technique goal and one musical goal for each class. Activities are short and engaging so focus stays high. Students leave with a clear home plan, often 10 to 15 minutes on four days a week, and a brief recap tailored to the learner. Geng is familiar with RCM and common method books and can support exam preparation when requested, yet the emphasis is enjoyment, solid habits, tone, rhythm, and phrasing. Warm, patient, and organized, Geng welcomes children, teens, and adults from first time beginners to returning players.
