Teacher Catharine has worked with hundreds of students and looks to help each student with their individual goals. Using interesting pieces, students learn how to read, use their hands correctly, and be artistic. Concepts are mastered in the lessons so that practice at home is review. Above all, the mood is kept light and supportive. Her lesson rate is $25 per half hour.

Michelle Vallance is a resident of St. Marys, Ontario. At the age of 8, her parents enrolled her in piano studies, exams and competitions which she continued to the age of 23. In university, she studied at the Royal School of Church Music in Croydon England, and, with the University of Windsor Chamber Choir, performed at Carnegie Hall in New York under the direction of British composer John Rutter. She holds both an Honors Bachelor of Music Degree with concentrations in piano, pipe organ and choral direction , as well as a Bachelor of Education degree in Music. She taught recorder, handbells and directed a wonderful children's choir in the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board for 17 years. In earlier years Michelle taught at Academie Ste. Cecile in Windsor and Algoma Conservatory in Sault Ste. Marie. Currently, Michelle and her husband are music directors at Holy Name of Mary Church in St. Marys. Michelle teaches piano, singing, can offer theory classes and handbell group playing as well. Her lesson rate is $25 per half hour.

Robert (Bob) Pope has been teaching since 1989. Bob is currently playing in the Stratford Concert Band, The Casino Band and the New Life Praise band. He enjoys writing and recording his own songs. Most of all Bob enjoys sharing his love for music and performance with his students. His rate is $25/half-hour lesson.

Teresa Pullen is a piano and woodwind (flute) instructor from Hickson, Ontario. She has been teaching for over 25 years with a small break to raise her 5 kids ranging in age from 11-20 years. Teresa holds her Grade 10 in both flute and piano from The Royal Conservatory of music along with her Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Western Ontario. She is currently working on her ARCT flute. She has also participated in the Rotary Festival of Music with her students as well as performing. Teresa has been a member of the KW Youth Symphony and a founding member of the Oxford Winds. She has also performed in many musicals including Oliver, Camelot, Brigadoon and the Music Man to mention a few. She is excited to continue her music journey. Her rate is $25/half-hour lesson.

Over the past 40 years Thomas Gatenby has played on stages and in venues, big and small, all over Ontario. Currently, as a guitarist for HWY 19 and Perry’s Lane, he has been performing in this area for the past 28 years. In the beginning Thomas’s formal training was with the Ontario Conservatory of Music. This brought the start of his career in music ranging from live performances in road shows, to teaching in various studios over the years. As a result, Thomas has helped many students achieve their musical goals. Thomas loves playing the guitar. He loves teaching guitar. This is what has brought him full circle to Long & McQuade. Thomas teaches one on one, using approaches borrowed from traditional teaching methods and from the many musicians he has performed with over the years. His lesson rate is $25/half-hour lesson.

Tyler Cooke is a piano instructor from Kitchener, Ontario. Tyler holds a Bachelor of Music-Education and his A.R.C.T. He has been learning piano since he was 10 and has since received his grade 8 and grade 10 RCM certificates, both times with honours. He has also participated in the Kiwanis Music Festival, winning multiple awards in various categories. Tyler is well rounded in many styles, having played in bands and at weddings. He has been teaching for over 8 years to students of various age groups and ex-perience levels. His lesson rate is $27 per half hour.

With more than 23 years on stage and 9+ as a Drum Instructor, Ulises Valenciano is a well experienced musician known for his versatile skills and adaptability, inspiring new generations of Drummers in Southwestern Ontario. During his career has performed across Mexico, Italy, United States, Spain and Canada as well as being part of recordings, live sessions and video shootings. He got into music at the age of 7 becoming a singer for a choir and then a few years later took a step into Drums taking lessons with the best drummers in the area and then studied Jazz drumming at The Arts Center of San Luis Potosi. As a part of the London community of musicians, has been actively collaborating with some of the most talented local bands and soloists contributing a new proposal and rhythmic perspective to Canadian Culture. His rate is $28 per half hour lesson.
