Christine Olliffe

Christine has had a love of music since a young age and grew up with a curiosity to learn as many instruments as she could. She was the Regional Vice President of The Society for Creative Anachronism, an international living history group with the aim of studying and recreating medieval cultures, as well as their treasurer. This experience added to Christine's skills and gave her the tools needed to keep the Stratford Music Lesson Centre running smoothly. In her spare time, Christine runs Insomnia Radio Canada, an all Canadian music podcast.

Ashley Giles - Violin, Viola, Fiddle, Mandolin, Piano music lessons in Stratford

Ashley Giles (Violin, Viola, Fiddle, Mandolin, Piano)

Ashley has been performing music for over 12 years and teaching for over 6. Since Ashley started music, she has had the opportunity of competing and performing as a fiddler/violinist across Canada and the U.S., winning many awards for her accomplishments. Ashley has participated in OMFA provincial finals for violin in 2010, 2011 and 2012. In 2015, Ashley placed fifth in the open fiddling class at the Grand North American Old Time Fiddle Championships in Alberta. Teaching is something Ashley has always been passionate about, and she will work with each individual student to ensure that they get the most out of every lesson. Ashley plays in a classic country dance band called, The Country Versatiles and is completing her Bachelor of Music degree at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. She is studying viola under Christine Vlajk. Her rate is $23.00/half-hour private lesson.

Percussionist and drummer Chris Hull has a Bachelor's of music from Wilfred Laurier University, and a Masters of music in Percussion Performance from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Chris has worked with orchestras across southern Ontario and in K-W and Toronto with his band ill Evans. In addition to private teaching, Chris has taught firnthenK-W Symphony Youth Orchestra programs, the KWS "My First Music Lesson" summer camps, the Inter-Provincial Music Camp in Muskoka, and the UAF Summer Music Academy. He has experience in Western popular & choral music, Balines gamelan, West African and Afro Cuban hand drumming, and jazz vibraphone. Chris' rate is $23/half hour private lesson.

Soprano Jessica Schreuders, from St Mary's holds a Bachelor's of Music Performance with honors from the University of Western Ontario. She has a combined 16 years of experience woth solo performance work, conducting, teaching grades kindergarten to grade eight, choir music, theory and microphone / recording techniques. She is well-versed in many genres of music from country to jazz and classical. Jessica toured North America and was featured on many occasions as a soloist. An award winning participant of the Stratford Kiwanis festival, and Provincial Finals. She holds a Master of Music degree from Duquesne University, where she studied with the legendary saxophonist James Houlik and worked with renowned jazz artists/pedagogues Mike Tomaro and Sean Jones. She incorporates performance psychology into her lessons to help her students deal with the stress of performing. As a result, her students have been highly successful in competitions, exams, and (most importantly) having fun performing in front of people!
