Matthew Cabana: born into a musical family, Matthew began his musical journey with Saxophone in the high school music program. He continued his musical studies at Cegep Vanier in the Popular Music program on Saxophone and Bass (electric). He was lucky enough to be invited by his father (a trombonist and vocalist) to play bass in his "Aces of Dixieland" orchestra, and then to work at Club Med. This was the start of regular musical work with him around Montreal, notably at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal every year between 1999-2007, and with the addition of the family band "Denny's Dixieland Clan" from 2002-2007, which included his Mother on Piano and his Brother on Trumpet. He has given bass lessons with École de Musique Chez Vous. In 2016, on Saxophone, he joined the band ''Under Our Groove'' which performs regularly, and during this time, he gave Bass, Saxophone and Piano lessons for beginners. He also completed the Jazz Performance Program at Concordia University between 2017-2018 on Saxophone. And has played Bass with several Blues, Rock, Funk and Jazz bands for 20 years. A personal belief: everyone can and should learn music! A recent resident of Victoriaville, Matthew is very patient and enthusiastic about continuing his musical journey with you.
