Conveniently located on the west end of Kenmount Road, we offer quality musical instruction for all skill levels on a variety of instruments! We specialize in all styles of music, from rock and pop to classical and even traditional fiddle and accordion, unique to our Newfoundland heritage! Our outstanding teachers provide a comfortable environment for guitar lessons, piano lessons, whatever your interest may be! Open Monday to Friday, 10am to 9pm and Saturdays 9am to 5pm, we offer flexible scheduling in our 14 well-equipped studios. There are no registration fees for lessons and no commitment is required! We also provide recitals twice yearly free of charge for all students, friends and family! Anne Quinton began teaching piano in the Clarenville area when she was just 13 years old. Her passion for teaching grew as did her passion for playing piano, saxophone, guitar and singing. Anne’s focus is teaching piano for enjoyment, however she has a great deal of experience in preparing students for exams, auditions and competitions. She achieved her Piano Performer’s ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2012. Anne operated her own music studio from 1999 to 2018, offering lessons to students of all ages and levels. At her studio, she coordinated a music program designed for preschool aged children. She has extensive experience playing in various local and provincial festivals, winning multiple awards. Anne now enjoys playing piano part time with the local band Winter Grey. Anne’s rate is $25 per half hour lesson.

He initiated his teaching journey in Mexico, sharing his musical passion in various schools. Currently based in St. John's, Canada, Beto enchants audiences with vibrant Latin American melodies. Armed with a master's in music performance and a bachelor's in music Innovation, he exhibits a commitment to musical excellence and adaptability. Notably, Beto holds the distinction of being the sole certified Suzuki trumpet teacher in this province, a testament to his expertise in the Suzuki method. Cansu Yeni began her music life professionally at the age of 13. Her career was kickstarted with the piano and the viola in a specialized music program in high school, which was followed by her education in the Musicology Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory in Istanbul, Turkey. She has been giving piano lessons since 2011, while she also worked as a music publisher. She loves the connection between music and law, as well as education! While Cansu was teaching in Istanbul, she prepared her students for Trinity College London and London College of Music exams. She gave music consultancy for several pianists and music schools for their piano method books regarding musicology and music publishing contents. Cansu believes that “when we understand the language of music, we are able to love and perform it at any age”. Her aim is to help her students to build connections about music.Cansu's rate is $26 per half hour lesson.

Damien has been teaching music since 1997.He is an author, composer, arranger, musician and music publisher. He studied at the Conservatoire de Saintes, France, and has a degree from The Music Academy International de Nancy (Partner with Berkley Music College). Damien was an Ibanez guitar instructor in France for 13 years and an entry examiner for the Music Academy International de Nancy. Damien has played with a finalist participant of the French version of The Voice, has toured in Europe, Newfoundland and St Pierre with several pop rock bands, performed in rock operas and wrote and performed for A CBC documentary. He teaches guitar (classical to metal!), electric bass, ukulele , theory , song writing , and composition; Damien has also published 5 educational music books ! Damien also teaches our Friday Jam Class as well as workshop classes that focus on Groove, Rhythm, Musical genres, Music history, Music Theory, Composition, Musical arrangements and Group Work. fred norman (Drums)

Fred started playing drums in 1986 and joined his first rock band later that year. After performing around the province with bands Andersons Council, Spoiled Rotten, Vengeance, and Cry Baby, Fred recorded an album with rock band Graffiti in 1991. Fred later relocated with Graffiti to Vancouver, BC, where he recorded and performed with groups Portrait, Rambler, Tin Pan, Love Lies Bleeding, and The Stellar Jays, in styles ranging from Rock and Heavy Metal, to Country and R&B. In 1999, Fred moved back to The Rock, and has recorded and performed with groups The Electric Dirt Band, Heebeejeebeez, and Pike, as well as solo artists, including Johnny Cash’s brother, Tommy Cash. After playing on 14 different albums with various groups/artists, Fred has built a name for himself as a very professional and solid studio drummer with lead/backup vocal abilities. Since 2010, Fred has been teaching at Long and McQuade, and his rate is $24 per half hour lesson.

Jamie Moran has been a performer and educator in various music circles since 2014. A graduate of the MUN School of Music, he has performed with many ensembles including the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and Scruncheons Percussion Ensemble among others. Jamie is also the percussionist for Cabot Power, and performs with other local artists including The Celtic Fiddlers. Besides percussion, Jamie plays many different instruments including guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, bodhran, banjo, drums, and he also sings. Jamie has traveled the province multiple times performing and leading workshops in various capacities. As an educator, Jamie is both a private and substitute music teacher. As an advocate for music, he is a board member with both the Newfoundland and Labrador Band Association and the CFM Local 820. His rate is $25 per half hour lesson.

Jeff Dyer is a singer, guitarist, composer, arranger, producer, and teacher. He has released four recordings and has performed all across Canada, the United States, and in Europe. He has extensive experience in television and radio, working as a music producer and musical director. He also had an eight part series with CBC Radio, "The Jeff Dyer Band/Live at the Hall". He is currently focused on teaching guitar and voice. Jeff’s rate is $25 per half hour lesson.
julia perry (Flute)

A native of Ontario, Julia Perry (she/her) is an enthusiastic and passionate flutist with over a decade of experience on the instrument. Julia has performed extensively both as a soloist and in ensemble settings including orchestras, wind ensembles, and chamber ensembles. She is passionate about music education at all ages and levels, and hopes to inspire the love of music in her students. She is currently completing her Master of Music (Performance/Pedagogy) at the MUN School of Music, studying in the studio Dr. Michelle Cheramy. She received her Bachelor of Music from Queen's University in 2023. Julia's rate is $25 per 30 minute lesson.
kristen english (Voice)

Kristen English is an enthusiastic performing artist from Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Her devotion to performance and fascination with vocal pedagogy led her to complete a MMus in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at MUN (2022). She also holds a BEd in Vocal Music and French
Education from Queen’s University (2016), and a BMus in Vocal Performance and Music
Education from WLU (2015). Kristen is a versatile, dynamic singer who has performed as a
soloist across multiple genres throughout Canada for over a decade. She has been the soprano
soloist in performances of Faure’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and has performed numerous
opera roles. She competed as a semi-finalist in the 2022 NATS National Student Auditions
competition in Chicago and has extensive experience as a choral singer and contemporary music
performer. Kristen has enjoyed working as a music and French teacher in Canada and Australia
for the past seven years. Her current passions include hiking, bouldering, improv, traveling, and making music with her song-writing partner. Kristen's rate is $28 per half hour lesson.
nick mccarthy (Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone)

Nick began playing instruments at a young age, going between piano, cello and drums. He settled on focusing on the Saxophone at the age of 13, which led him to play on cruise ship venues while in high school. He then graduated from Brock University, where he originally studied Game Design focusing on Music Composition. Since then, Nick has balanced his passion for playing Sax live with his new appreciation for Music Production, blending both elements in his work on various released video game titles. Nick brings over a decade of playing experience, and has spent time as a student teacher for high school music classes where he conducted and organized jazz combos and bands, along with arranging and writing compositions for bands to play. Nick's rate is $24 for a half hour lesson.
riley ledrew (Button Accordion, Guitar, Harmonica)

Initially self taught, Riley has studied traditional Newfoundland music for over 12 years.
In those years he has had the honor of learning from the likes of Paul Hamilton, Anthony Chafe, and Mark Hiscock.
Riley specializes in button accordion and has performed at many venues all across Newfoundland, including; The George Street Fest, Flatrock Festival, CBS Kiwanis Festival and many more.
His teaching experience includes private lessons with people of all ages, as well as at afterschool programs. Riley's rate is $24 per half hour lesson.

Savanna Muscat (they/them) was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. They completed their Masters in Music (Conducting) at Memorial University, as well as their Bachelors in Music at the University of Windsor (double major in Euphonium and Classical Voice). They developed a love for teaching both privately in studio and in the public/private school system. Aside from teaching, they love to perform both chorally and instrumentally. Highlights include: lead soprano in local vocal octet Octatonic Decadence; masterworks chorus alongside the Windsor Symphony Orchestra; touring with Mid-America Productions to perform at Carnegie Hall; lead trumpet in local Broadway productions; and solo euphonium features in the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. They are excited to further their teaching career here in St. John's. Savanna's rate is $26 per half hour lesson.

Sharon offers piano lessons for all ages including a specialized curriculum for beginner adult students. Having her grade 9 RCM, she will set goals like RCM exams for the truly ambitious and offer morning, afternoon and evening lessons to suit various lifestyles. Sharon has played and toured in various bands of different genres for many years, has recorded 2 CDs with reggae band Pressure Drop and has been teaching since 1997. Born in Baie Verte, NL, Steve is a guitarist and composer with over 20 years of teaching experience. He received his B.M. (Performance) from Acadia University, and his M.M. (Performance) from Memorial University. His compositions have been performed across Canada, and featured in theatre, video games, and television.
Steve’s students have won Gold Medals in RCM exams, and received awards and scholarships through Kiwanis Festival performances. His ukulele group features “ukulele orchestra” style arrangements, and singalongs where students of any level can join in the fun! He runs the Classical Guitar Ensemble, as well as the Long & McQuade Classical Guitar Camp, a summer intensive that brings teachers from across Canada to St. John's for a series of concerts and masterclasses. His rate is $26 per half hour lesson.
tony tucker (Drums, Djembe, Hand Drums, Percussion)

Tony Tucker is a percussionist from St. John's, who started playing drum kit at the young age of 10, alongside his parents who played piano and organ in church. In the 90’s, Tony began studying world percussion; his primary focus being traditional Flamenco, West African, Middle-Eastern, and Latin percussion. Tony's passion for West African music led him to study with djembe masters Famoudou Konate, Mohamed Kalifa Kamara, Mamady Keita, & M'Bemba Bangoura. He performed with 5-piece drum ensemble Fola, specializing in Guinean percussion. In 1997, Tony joined the El Viento Flamenco, wherein he has perfected the integral and complex hand clapping. The group performed with many Canadian symphonies, the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, the Atlantic Festival of Lights, PEI’s Folk and Jazz Festival, The Atlantic Film Festival, and Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival. Tony’s rate is $25 per half hour lesson.
zhongli hu (Violin)

Zhongli started his musical journey in China, mastering the violin while receiving a professional education at a renowned music high school. Zhongli achieved Violin Level 12 at the prestigious Shanghai Conservatory of Music (equivalent to Level 10 RCM). Combining his passion for music with academic pursuits, Zhongli earned a business degree and a music minor from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Zhongli previously served as the concertmaster of CALOS, and is currently a member of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra.

Experience the thrill of rehearsing and performing in a Rock Band! Students gain skills in rhythm and lead guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keyboards and vocals under the guidance of our experienced instructor, Damien Roy. Popular and contemporary rock standards are rehearsed while students learn how to work together as an ensemble. Previous playing experience is necessary.
