Derek has been performing and teaching drums in the Edmonton area and beyond for more than three decades. His extensive live experience includes performances at festivals, clubs and events across Canada in an eclectic range of musical genres. Derek has studied jazz performance at Grant MacEwan Community College and the University of Toronto, and has a lifelong passion for learning drums that he loves to share with students of all ages and abilities. He strives to provide lessons that impart the fundamental techniques of the instrument in a manner tailored to each individual student’s interests and abilities. Derek believes that the drums are awesome, lessons should be fun, and practicing and learning should be rewarding!
Derek's rate is $29 per half hour lesson.

Paul Hoar (Drums, Percussion)

Paul is a graduate of the MacEwan University music program and has been teaching drum lessons for over 10 years. In addition to teaching private music lessons, Paul has been involved with drumline and percussion ensembles (both as a member and instructor) as well as concert bands. When not teaching Paul remains active in the local music scene playing, touring, and recording with a variety of bands. Paul offers drum lessons at our Edmonton North store. Paul is now offering lessons on Monday!
Paul rate is $29 per half hour.
