Andrew Greenwood

Andrew Greenwood (Sax, Flute, Clarinet)

A multi-instrumentalist, Andrew is a performer, composer and educator. He has degrees from UVIC where he studied classical music, and Humber College in Toronto where he studied jazz. He performs regularly in a variety of genres including jazz, reggae, funk, hiphop and rock. His rate is $25 per half hour.

Bryn Badel

Bryn Badel (Brass)

A versatile musician in different genres, Bryn performs with a wide variety of groups from BC. He previously played as principal trumpet with the Vancouver Island Symphony. Bryn teaches on all brass instruments found in the modern wind band. His rate is $25 per half hour.

Chris Finch

Chris Finch (Guitar)

Chris received a diploma with honours from Selkirk College in Contemporary Music & Technology where he majored in performance in 2005. He has a relaxed yet professional approach to lessons with extensive experience in a variety of genres. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Colin Hole

Colin Hole (Guitar, Bass)

Educated at Berkeley College of Music, The Victoria Conservatory, The Academy of Recording Arts in Vancouver, and GIT Musician's Institute in California, Colin has written a book of guitar theory and is adept at teaching classical, rock, blues and jazz guitar. His rate is $24 per half hour.

Don Peterson

Don Peterson (Guitar, Bass)

Teaching since 1995, Don is well versed in many styles (blues, rock, country, finger-style, theory). Actively gigging with various local bands, Don brings his sense of humor to lessons and enjoys working with beginners or advanced players of all ages. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Elspeth Ford

Elspeth Ford (Voice)

Majoring in Classical Voice at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Elspeth brings extensive insight into the physiology of singing. With a warm encouraging approach, she is creative and engaging, whether you wish to pursue classical, pop or other styles. Her rate is $25 per half hour.

Erin Tinney

Erin Tinney (Cello)

With a Masters Degree in cello performance minoring in Music Education, Erin hopes to impart the same passion for music in her students that she clearly enjoys. She's worked with the Vancouver Opera, the Galiano Ensemble, The Prince George Symphony and numerous other ensembles. Her rate is $24 per half hour.

Ian Bezpalko

Ian Bezpalko (Guitar, Bass)

Ian's diploma in Jazz from the Victoria Conservatory along with his keen interest all genres of music makes him a good choice for outright beginners or advanced players alike. By teaching solid foundations, he's able to help his students reach their musical goals and have a lot of fun along the way. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Jillian Wedel

Jillian Wedel (Piano)

Jillian, also known as "Jay", has a Diploma from Vancouver's Art Institute. Whether you want to play your favourite song on the radio, sight-read Beethoven, understand chording and improvising, or write your own music, Jay has the ability to help you achieve your musical goals. Jay's rate is $23 per half hour.

Jon Epworth

Jon Epworth (Drums, Voice)

Session drummer, vocalist for film and television, songwriter, and producer, Jon enjoys open-ended grooves found in reggae, old R&B, as well as speed-punk. Great with kids or adults, he's a friendly, fun, relaxed teacher who adapts his teaching style to an individual's needs. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Lana Sokolova

Lana Sokolova (Piano)

Lana has extensive education in classical piano, music theory, and vocal training, including eight years with the Royal Conservatory of Music and four years of music college. She holds a Music Teacher Diploma from Moscow. She welcomes children and adults of all levels. Her rate is $24 per half hour lesson.

Lane Arndt

Lane Arndt (Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Mandolin, Banjo)

With a Masters degree in Music Theory and a B. Music in jazz studies and performance, Lane's friendly demeanor and enthusiasm make learning fun. Whether it's bluegrass picking, shred metal or jazz improvisation you're after, Lane enjoys teaching most genres. His rate is $24 per half hour.

Laura Cave

Laura Cave (Piano)

With an ARCT and background in classical music, Laura has enjoyed a career performing pop, rock, and jazz piano with vocals in the hotels of Europe, Canada and the USA. Teaching in Victoria since 2009, she is highly versatile and has a flexible approach to lessons. Her rate is $23 per half hour lesson.

Marshall Wildman

Marshall Wildman (Drums)

A former UVIC student of both percussion and computer science, Marshall brings a relaxed yet focused approach to his lessons. This songwriter plays in 5 local bands and is comfortable in all styles from rock to complicated Latin rhythms. He encourages playing to music in lessons that you as a student would enjoy. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Mike Fraser

Mike Fraser (Drums)

Teaching since 2004, Mike is a powerful force in the Victoria blues scene and plays regularly with a variety of bands locally and throughout Canada. Though specializing in blues, rock and metal, Mike enjoys playing a wide variety of styles and makes learning fun. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Monique Fink

Monique Fink (Cello, Violin, Viola)

With a Bachelor of Music degree from UVIC in Cello Performance, Monique is also well versed in classical violin and fiddle. An engaging and enthusiastic instructor willing to adapt teaching material to suit the individual, students find her encouraging and inspiring. Her rate is $23 per half hour.

Nick Stecz

Nick Stecz (Drums)

Nick has a BA from Queens University, and has explored folk, rock, jazz, pop, and metal through his recording, touring, and performance experiences. Laid back and friendly, Nick includes rudiments, sight reading and technique in lessons designed for maximum fun and musicianship. His rate is $24 per half hour.

Peter Zaza

Peter Zaza (Piano)

Peter began his professional career as a piano player at the age of 15. Originally from Toronto and working all across Canada, he's been in the music business for most of his life. He studied at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, and teaches kids and adults in styles ranging from classical to electronic. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Rhonda Aikin

Rhonda Aikin (Voice)

A powerhouse blues and rock vocalist, Rhonda is a highly sought-after harmony singer. She works with students of all ages and with her down to earth friendly manner, lessons are fun and informative. Her rate is $23 per half hour.

Rowan Osborne

Rowan Osborne (Violin, Fiddle)

Trained in both classical violin and fiddle, this young teacher brings a passion for the instrument to his lessons, striking a great balance between structure and fun. Winner of several awards for fiddle at Provincial and local levels, Rowan is also well versed in Suzuki violin and other classical methods. He is patient, kind and good humoured, making lessons enjoyable and productive. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Stefan Brandt

Stefan Brandt (Guitar, Bass)

With a Diploma in Jazz from the Victoria Conservatory, Stefan focuses on, but not limited to rock, classic rock, and metal styles. His lessons are relaxed and fun, designed to ease new guitarists into songs that they'll enjoy playing. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Taylor Charles

Taylor Charles (Drums)

Educated with some of Victoria's best drummers, Taylor covers the importance of rudiments, reading, feel, metronome and technique in his lessons. He is creative in his teaching approach keeping students motivated to learn. His rate is $23 per half hour.

Victor Wells

Victor Wells (Guitar, Ukulele)

An accomplished guitar player and vocalist, Victor hails from Chicago where he developed his passion for the blues. An actively gigging musician, Victor is a great choice for young beginners or advanced players. His rate is $23 per half hour.
