Charles Desnoyers discovered the guitar at age six. It was upon entering CEGEP that he
developed an interest in instrumental pedagogy by beginning to teach.
After starting his studies in Natural Sciences, he simultaneously completed his
college program in world guitar at Cégep de Sainte-Foy.

He participated in and won several competitions, including Secondaire en spectacle, Cégepen spectacle, the Concours de la capitale, and the Prix d’expression musicale. He alsotook master classes with Pavel Steidl, Paul Galbraith, and Pablo Sainz-Villegas.

Currently enrolled in the Bachelor’s program in Performance—Classical Guitar at
Laval University, he is active on the professional scene as a soloist and in ensembles,
performing in various styles (classical, world music, pop, jazz). He regularly
contributes to the Frégate project, dedicated to creating albums in 24 hours, and
teaches at the Musique en tête Foundation for the Centre de services scolaires
des Navigateurs.

Louis Larouche won the first prize for trumpet at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec.
Winner of a prize awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts, he completed his training at Boston University where he obtained his diploma under the teaching of Roger Voisin. He has participated in numerous recordings for the CBC and has been invited more than once to appear as solo trumpeter on special programs broadcast by Radio-Canada. He has also toured Canada, the United States, Peru and Chile in addition to accompanying internationally renowned artists in the studio and on stage.

In addition to teaching classical and jazz trumpet, Louis Larouche is also the founding president of Ars Musicum Workshop, an initiative aimed at introducing the instruments of the brass family to many children in Canada and the United States.
