Austin Culler - Guitar music lessons in Lethbridge

Austin Culler is a graduate of guitar and music theory from the University of British Columbia. There, he studied the classical guitar under Daniel Bolshoy and afterwards with Iliana Matos. Mr. Culler specializes in classical guitar and jazz guitar, stressing the importance of developing the student’s baseline musical skills in reading, technique, and fretboard harmony informed by his background with formal musical training. Students studying under Mr. Culler will learn to develop holistically as musicians, which will in turn provide them with the skills to pursue whichever musical path they wish — as hobbyists or serious musicians. Mr. Culler teaches all levels and can also teach music theory lessons to help supplement their training, regardless of their instrument. Austin offers lessons at our Lethbridge location and his rate is $26 per half hour.

Brad is a pillar in the local music community. Brad has been teaching and playing drums since 1985 with a passion for performance and music second to none. Brad studied at Grant MacEwan University, Capilano University, and University of Lethbridge. He has played extensively throughout Western Canada with various groups in multiple styles. Brad has backed and performed with several well-known artists such as Bo Diddly, Phil Dwyer, PJ Perry, Rosanna Eckert, and has also backed the U of L Big Band, the U of L Wind Ensemble, The Lethbridge Symphony, as well as several musical productions through New West Theatre, U of L Drama Department, and the Lethbridge School District. Brad is the founder, and manager of the local favourite mega-group Hippodrome. He also performs in many other local bands including HB03, and Mwansa Mwansa. Brad has been teaching at our Lethbridge store since 2011 and his rate is $29 per half hour.

Known for his exceptional guitar skills and advanced technique, Braeden's specialties include virtuosic lead guitar, spanning play-styles from metal to country, as well as improvisation, music theory, and composition. Emily originally hails from Drumheller, Alberta, where her love of singing really took flight. Taking many years of piano before-hand, she decided to take some voice lessons to see how she would like it. Little did she know that those lessons would start a lifelong love of singing and Music. After graduating high-school, she went and completed her Bachelor of Music specializing in Opera Performance from the University of Lethbridge. From there, she took a one year Pre-Masters Degree from the University of Manitoba where she realized that she really loved sharing her love of music in the form of teaching! She is now back at the University of Lethbridge taking her AfterDegree in Music Education. As much as Emily loves Opera and was trained in it, she is also loves musical theatre, jazz and pop and is capable of teaching in all formats. She hopes that she will be able to inspire anyone into a lifelong love of singing and Music, just like her first voice teacher did for her. Jamie was born, and raised in Lethbridge Alberta, and showed interest in drumming as early as age 4. Growing up, Jamie continued to hone his craft as a drummer, playing all styles of music, preparing him to become a professional musician. In the fall of 1990 Jamie moved to Vancouver, BC to attend Capilano College to study. It was there the made the connections with other musicians to be part of the city’s vibrant music scene. While there, Jamie recorded and toured with many artists including Moist, Jet Set Satellite, Chin Injeti, Soul Decision, Michael Buble, Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench, and Colin James. In early 2003 Jamie relocated back to Lethbridge, and began a teaching practice shortly thereafter, and continues to teach drums, and share his expertise with students of all ages. Sarah Viejou received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Lethbridge in 2011 and 2015 respectively, studying with Dr. Thomas Staples. She has participated in masterclasses with Frøydis Ree Wekre, Radovan Vlatković, Guy Carmichael, and David Hoyt at the Domaine Forget Music and Dance Academy, and with Gary Reeves, Mary Fearon, Laurie Matiation, and Gillian MacKay at the University of Lethbridge. Since 2008 Sarah has performed regularly with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra, currently in the Principal Horn chair.
