Cover your favourite song* -- your choice of instrument and style -- for your chance to win a $1000 shopping spree!

Think "Mary Had a Little Lamb" shredded on guitar, or a jazzy version of "Hot Cross Buns" on the piano, or "Danny Boy" sung reggae-style. Take any traditional song or nursery rhyme, and add your own flavour on your instrument of choice. Submit a video of your unique piece - and you could win a $1000 shopping spree!

Record a video of yourself or your band performing a unique rendition of any public domain song*.  Go solo, collaborate with a friend, or get your whole band together for more chances† to win!

Step 3>
Share your video to your social media account and let us know the song you're covering with hashtags #LMCoverContest and #longandmcquade in your post on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, or in the video description on YouTube.  Make sure the video is available publicly!

All valid entries will be included in a random draw to win a $1000 shopping spree at Long & McQuade!

Contest open to residents of Canada. Submissions accepted June 1-27. One submission per social media platform per person or band permitted. Valid entries must be covers of public domain songs so that no artists’ rights are infringed and no copyright strikes are placed against the entry. Entries must be posted publicly and include hashtags stated above. Contestants must be following Long & McQuade on the social media platform on which they entered. Winner(s) will be randomly drawn from a list of valid entries and will be announced on June 30. 

†Full-band or collaborative submissions will receive one entry into the draw per band member or performer. 

Winner(s) must be able to receive direct messages on their social platform so that further information can be communicated between both parties if necessary.
