Jacob Herd is a versatile multi-instrumentalist performer, composer, and teacher and an in-demand part of Winnipeg’s music scene! After graduating from Brandon University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Music, Jacob moved back to Winnipeg and began performing as side musician with an array of Winnipeg artists and bands.
Jacob’s passion and love of music informs his approach to teaching, and his eclectic experience makes him a versatile teacher. Specializing in beginner and intermediate students, Jacob aims to inspire a fundamental love for music and curiosity about how it works, basing lessons around the goals interests and of the student.
Jacob offers lessons in English, and his rate is $28/half hour.

Liam is an educator, multi-instrumentalist, and composer from Winnipeg, Manitoba. His musical life began with classical violin training at age 5, and later he was a member of the Winnipeg Youth Orchestra and began playing the double bass at age 14. Liam holds a Bachelor of Jazz Performance from the University of Manitoba where he studied with Karl Kohut. Active on the Winnipeg music scene for a decade, Liam has performed alongside artists including Tomson Highway, Will Bonness, Ron Paley, and Jon Gordon, in addition to at events such as the Winnipeg Jazz Festival and the Winnipeg Folk Festival.
Liam offers lessons in classical violin, fiddling, double bass, electric bass, theory/rudiments, and jazz improvisation. He helps students to explore music that resonates with them in a supportive, structured way and strives to provide an individual lesson experience to each student regardless of age or ability. Repertoire can include Jazz, Classical, Fiddling, Musical theatre, blues, and popular music depending on a given student’s interests. Lessons are offered in English and French. Liam teaches out of our Henderson location, and his rate is $29/half hour.

McKenzie Walpole is a trumpet player, bassist, brass specialist, composer, arranger, and educator from Winnipeg, MB. He holds an undergraduate degree in Jazz performance, and a masters degree in classical performance, both from Brandon University. However, his performance experience has taken him down many different paths, playing a variety of styles, with numerous groups, including brass bands, Latin bands, event bands, tribute bands, and even the circus. As an educator, he takes pride in making complex ideas easy to digest, while keeping the fundamentals at the forefront of the lesson, and providing new ways for students to approach and appreciate music, theoretically and practically.
McKenzie teaches out of our Henderson Location. His rate is $29/half hour.
